0Singer and composer Xamã, who had his first contact with rap in 1997 when listening to the album "Quebra-cabe" by Gabriel O Pensador, now shares a Grammy nomination with him. Almost three decades after being impacted by the work of the Brazilian rap icon, Xamã was nominated alongside Gabriel and Lulu Santos in the "Best Urban Interpretation in Portuguese Language" category with the song "Cachimbo da Paz 2", released in 2023. p>
For Xamã, Gabriel O Pensador has always been a reference in the national rap scene. Participating in the project was an opportunity to combine his own influences, including his indigenous roots and the boom bap style, with the legacy of the artist he admired so much throughout his career.
“Gabriel has always been an artist who I admired it a lot. Participating in this song was incredible, especially because it brought a little more of my influences and the connection that the lyrics have with my roots. We took great care and respect to ensure that everything turned out in the best possible way”, commented Xamã at the time of the release.
On his Instagram, Gabriel shared his vision about the project: “Always I believed that music has a soul, since before my first album. 'Cachimbo da Paz 2' is one of those, and that's why it was chosen to be the single from my new album, a work to which I dedicated myself for many months with the support of great artists.”
Under the production of Kevin Afonso, "Cachimbo da Paz 2" is part of Gabriel O Pensador's new album, " Antidote for All Types of Poison.” In addition to Xamã and Lulu Santos, the project features the participation of other big names in music, such as Black Alien and Armandinho, reinforcing the album's musical diversity.

0Even with Will Smith's surprise announcement on the Sunset Stage, the big highlight this Thursday (19) at Rock in Rio 2024 is the British Ed Sheeran, 33 years old. The singer closes the night on Palco Mundo, with the show scheduled to start at 00:15. The festival, which celebrates its 40th anniversary, starts again this Thursday and continues until Sunday, promising a program full of attractions of different styles.
