Flamengo has been the football team with the highest attendance in Brazil for years. With the support of the fans and a series of titles won in recent years, the team is managing to reduce its debt considerably.

It has been known for a long time that the Flamengo fans are one of the biggest in the world. In a recent survey, conducted by the AtlasIntel institute, Flamengo continues to have the biggest crowd in Brazil, with 21.9% of the population's preference. With this large number of fans, the sale of official team items (such as clothing, for example) and game tickets is also huge.

In 2022, with ticket sales alone, Mais Querido raised around 101 million reais. In comparison, that same year, Flamengo got five times this amount, 500 million reais, with broadcast rights and prizes. The ti+p of profit that Fla achieves on behalf of the Nation is incomparable in national terms.

In recent years, Flamengo has been reducing debts and increasing cash income. Last season, Mengão won the Libertadores of America and Copa do Brasil titles. The achievements came to add to the public collection, along with Pay-per-view income.

These numbers also helped the team from Rio de Janeiro to reduce the debt from R$ 450 million to R$ 327 million, between the years 2021 and 2022. It is currently estimated that this amount is around R$ 300 million. However, as the cash value is around R$ 240 million, the scenario is quite favorable.

Flamengo will have an important novelty on the field this Sunday (31), when it faces Grêmio in the 22nd round of the Brasileirão . The club will now display the name of Betano, the new master sponsor of the Manto Sagrado, in the center of its uniform .

Until then, the sports betting company had already signed a contract with Rubro-Negro, but the shirt was only being used with the phrase “A Nação Confia” , in reference to the agreement that had not yet been officially activated.

CONTRACT COULD REACH R$ 1 BILLION

The partnership between Flamengo and Betano runs until 2028 and provides for R$268.5 million per season. With bonuses included for winning titles and achieving goals, the contract could reach R$1 billion over the life of the contract .

In addition to the uniform display, the company is preparing a grand celebration at Maracanã Stadium to mark the official start of the partnership. 3D mosaics are planned in the stands and a concert by singer Alexandre Pires , promising a special atmosphere for the brand's debut at Manto Sagrado.

FLAMENGO'S NEXT COMMITMENT

Flamengo returns to the field this Sunday (31), at 4 pm (Brasília time), against Grêmio, at Maracanã. The match will be broadcast on Rede Globo, on open TV (except for São Paulo), and on Premiere , on pay-per-view.

This Saturday, Roma defeated Pisa 1-0 in a Serie A match. The standout performer was Argentine Matías Soulé, who scored the winning goal. The match also featured a strong red-and-black presence : Wesley was once again a starter for Roma, while Lorran, on loan from Flamengo , watched the match from the stands.

LORRAN CLOSELY FOLLOWS THE FUTURE TEAM

Recently loaned by Flamengo to Pisa, Lorran was present at the stadium to observe his future teammates . Before kickoff, the youngster participated in the warm-up on the sidelines, already wearing the colors of his new club, and even greeted Wesley, his former teammate at Ninho do Urubu.

HOW WAS PISA X ROME

The first half featured heavy marking, numerous fouls, and few clear-cut scoring chances. The teams went into halftime with the score tied , in a game more physical than technical. After the break, Roma showed more aggression.

In the 55th minute, Soulé received a good pass, beat the marker and finished with class to open the scoring: 1-0. Shortly after, in the 61st minute, the Argentine found the net again , but the move was reviewed by VAR and the second goal was disallowed.

WESLEY'S NUMBERS IN THE MATCH

A regular starter, Wesley was a standout at right-back, playing as a winger in Gian Piero Gasperini's system . He proved to be solid in defense and involved in attack, traits that caught the coach's attention while he was still at Flamengo .

  • Minutes: 90
  • Touches on the ball: 84
  • Successful passes: 52/56 (93%)
  • Successful passes in the final third: 14/16 (88%)
  • Correct crosses: 1/2 (50%)
