The draw held at the headquarters of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) determined that Flamengo will face Atlético-MG in the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil . Mengão will host the first leg of the fourth phase of the national knockout stage . The Mais Querido is looking to win its sixth title in the competition and equal Cruzeiro as the most successful team in the competition.
The duel between Flamengo and Atlético-MG in the round of 16 is a repeat of the 2024 Copa do Brasil final . Mengão is the current champion of the competition after winning both legs of the final against Galo, with a 3-1, with two goals from Gabigol and one from Arrascaeta in the first leg at Maracanã . In the return leg, Gonzalo Plata decided the score of 1-0 and confirmed the victory.
The clashes between Flamengo and Atlético-MG will be played on dates yet to be defined , but the round of 16 clash will only take place after the FIFA Club World Cup , which starts on June 14 and runs until July 13. Flamengo is in Group D of the intercontinental tournament, along with Chelsea , Esperance and LAFC .
This was not the only draw involving Flamengo this Monday (2). Earlier, Mengão found out its opponent in the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores. Mais Querido will face Internacional on August 13 and 20. This will be the first time since 2019 that the teams will face each other in a knockout game .
The midfielder is reportedly unhappy with the Hammers and sees a departure as beneficial for his future career, even though manager Graham Potter is counting on him.

Brazilian Lucas Paquetá is expected to be on the field this Thursday (22) in the duel between West Ham x Chelsea, for the Premier League. Considered one of the Hammers' main players, the midfielder trained with the starters and should start the match.
Despite his important role in the squad, Paquetá isn't having a good time at London Stadium. According to the English website Hammers News, the player no longer displays the same enthusiasm as before and is no longer the smiling figure who once commanded attention behind the scenes. He has recently become more isolated, even in relation to his own compatriots .
The situation worries West Ham 's board, which believed the athlete would be more motivated after being cleared in the investigation into alleged involvement in sports betting. However, the situation remains different than expected.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Paquetá is considering changing clubs during this transfer window and has already been approached by several teams . However, there are no concrete negotiations yet. A fan favorite for Fluminense and currently playing for Wolverhampton Wanderers (ENG), midfielder Jhon Arias is back in the news in Brazil. According to journalist Julio Miguel Neto, Flamengo is already considering making an offer for the Colombian in the 2026 season.

Argentine striker Paulo Dybala, 31, has entered Flamengo's radar . According to journalist Jorge Nicola on the Arena SBT program, the Roma player has become the club's new top target for the coming years.
