Flamengo lost to Santos last Wednesday (01), 2-1, in a game valid for the 31st round of the Brazilian Championship. Deplorable scenes in the stands marked the match after some fans threw bottles onto Mané Garrincha's pitch. Now, Fla can be punished with a fine and even loss of field commands due to the attitude of the fans.

This is because, Art. 213 of the Brazilian Sports Code (section III and § 1) provides for loss of field command from one to ten matches when objects are thrown onto the field of play. Furthermore, of course, the article also foresees a fine of between R$ 100 and R$ 100 thousand.

SEE EXCERPT FROM THE ART. 213

“When the disorder, invasion or throwing of an object is extremely serious or causes harm to the progress of the sporting event, the entity carrying out the event may be punished with the loss of control from one to ten matches, competitions or equivalent, when participating in the official competition.”

FANS THROW BOTTLES

In an excerpt from the summary, Rafael Klein mentions two episodes involving the throwing of claws by Flamengo fans. One of them even hit Bruno Henrique in the face. However, in the summary, the referee signaled that the object hit defender Rodrigo Caio.

THE GAME

Santos beat Flamengo, by 2 to 1. At first, Mais Querido won the match with a goal from Pedro. However, Rubro-Negro conceded to a draw and, subsequently, to the reaction of the São Paulo team. As a result, Fla ended up suffering a setback.

AND NOW?

Now, Flamengo is preparing for the next match of the season with a live broadcast from Coluna do Fla. Mais Querido returns to the field on Sunday (05), when they face Fortaleza, starting at 4pm (Brasília time), at Arena Castelão, in the 32nd round of the Brazilian Championship.

Last Wednesday (18), representatives from Flamengo and Caixa Econômica Federal held another meeting to resolve the impasse surrounding the Gasologista land, acquired by the club in July. The meeting had the support of Rio de Janeiro City Hall and the Attorney General's Office (AGU), and a new meeting scheduled for next week, in Brasília, could seal the definitive agreement. The information was released by journalist Diogo Dantas, from the newspaper "O Globo".

Mengão's board of directors, represented by president Rodolfo Landim, vice-general Rodrigo Dunshee, CEO Reinaldo Belotti and vice-president of equity Marcos Bodin, was optimistic about the possibility of a solution soon. Caixa questions the amount paid by the club at the land auction, but everything indicates that an additional amount could resolve the legal conflict by next month.

INVOLVEMENT OF THE CITY OF RIO

The meeting was also attended by deputy Pedro Paulo and the club's director of external relations, Cacau Cotta, who have acted as intermediaries between the club and the mayor from Rio, Eduardo Paes. In August, a meeting involving the bank's president, Carlos Vieira, president Lula and mayor Eduardo Paes had already signaled the path to an agreement.

IMPORTANCE OF THE AGREEMENT FOR FLAMENGO

Mais Querido's director of external relations, Cacau Cotta, highlighted that the agreement is the ideal way to give peace of mind to the club. "For the club, a good agreement is always better than an eternal discussion about values. The land has already been expropriated. The agreement is ideal to eliminate any doubts and for Flamengo to have the necessary peace of mind to begin the work", said Cotta.

This Thursday (19), Flamengo hosts Peñarol (URU) at Maracanã, at 7pm (Brasília time), in a match valid for the quarter-finals of the Copa Libertadores da América. In search of a good advantage for the second leg, coach Tite will have to deal with several important absences in the red and black squad.

Peñarol coach, Diego Aguirre, defined the starting lineup for the match decisive. With no important absences, the Uruguayan team takes to the field with: Aguerre; Léo Coelho, Javier Méndez, Guzmán Rodríguez; Pedro Milans, Eduardo Darías, Damián García, Javier Cabrera, Léo Fernández, Maximiliano Olivera; and Maximiliano Silvera.

Aguirre will have almost his entire squad at his disposal. The only player out of the match is Damian Suarez, who has not yet had his name regularized after his recent arrival at the Uruguayan club. However, Suarez's absence is not a concern, as the coach has a complete squad for the clash against Mengão. b>

On the other hand, Mais Querido has to deal with six confirmed absences. Cebolinha, Pedro, Luiz Araújo, Gabigol, Michael and Viña are out of the match, all due to injuries. These absences complicate the formation of coach Tite, who will have to adjust the team to seek a good result playing at home.

DECISIVE GAME AT MARACANÃ

This Thursday's clash is extremely important for the CRF. The Rio team needs a convincing victory to travel more calmly to Uruguay for the second leg, scheduled for September 26th. Owning the assist for Gerson's goal in the draw with Vasco, last Sunday, Arrascaeta is approaching a historic milestone in the Brazilian Championship. With the assist he provided, the Uruguayan equaled Dudu and is just nine passes behind Marcelinho Carioca, potentially becoming the greatest assist in the history of the competition.

With 68 assists, Arrascaeta is ahead of names like Scarpa , Everton Ribeiro and Zico in statistics. Playing in Brazilian football since 2015, when he arrived at Cruzeiro, the midfielder has already played 218 matches in the Brazilian Championship, 50 of which were assists with the Flamengo shirt. b>

Arrascaeta stands out not only for his assists, but also for his goals. With 55 goals scored, 36 with the Flamengo shirt, the Uruguayan has remained among the best players in the championship since his debut at Cruzeiro.

Champion in 2019 and 2020, the midfielder has been in three of the last five “ideal teams” in the championship. He is currently the third foreigner with the most goals in Brazilian football this century, with 113 goals, behind only Cano and Paolo Guerrero.
