Oscar has been outside Brazil for many years. The former São Paulo, Internacional and Chelsea (ING) player has been at Shanghai Port (CHI) since 2017. The Porto Alegre team has been holding talks with the player's staff, according to the newspaper O Dia.
Flamengo's vice-president of football, Marcos Braz, in a recent statement explained the club's desire to count on the athlete in other seasons: "The difficulty of going to China was the adaptation process. When you had him... you have players there who stayed for 5 years, 10 years, stayed their entire career. Oscar doesn't want to leave there . He's already adapted, he wins what he won't win anywhere else in the world. It's his decision. Do you think I didn't want the Oscar here? I already tried.", said Braz.
O The biggest obstacle to counting on the midfielder is precisely the player's high salary. Oscar receives approximately 24 million euros per year, around 10 million reais per month, which makes it impossible for him to leave the Chinese club for any other club on the planet. However, Oscar knows that when he leaves China, he will not find the same values and is determined to adapt his salary to the reality of the market in which he will participate, which has excited Brazilian clubs.
The portal also pointed out that, knowing the possibility, Flamengo plans to contact the midfielder, who can play wide on the right, just as coach Tite wants. But as this is a negotiation that if successful, would only bring the player in at the beginning of 2025, after the Flamengo elections, the red-black club waits a little longer, prioritizing signings that can reinforce the squad in 2024.

After terminating its contract with PixBet and considering new proposals, Flamengo has chosen Betano as its new master sponsor . The agreement, valid until 2028, is the largest in Brazilian football history, with a potential annual value of R$268.5 million . President Luiz Eduardo Baptista, known as Bap, explained the reasons behind the choice.
According to Bap, the decision wasn't based solely on financial considerations. He highlighted the process of rapprochement between the parties, emphasizing the company's strength in the market and its stance on the social challenges facing the betting industry.
"It was a process of mutual understanding. We understand Betano's role in this growing world , which also brings challenges. They expressed concern about this," said the Flamengo president.
The president noted that the sponsorship extends beyond the main team, also encompassing the club's other sports: " Flamengo is much more than a football club . It's a nation, with many dimensions and tribes : rowing, basketball, volleyball, judo, swimming, artistic sports—in short, so much more," Bap emphasized.
Jokingly, Bap stated that the partnership could elevate Flamengo to heights never before achieved in its history: " By getting to know each other, we were able to devise a global strategy . Who knows, maybe Flamengo and Betano have discovered that one plus one can make three?" he said.
Betano's debut at the Manto Sagrado is scheduled for the match against Vitória this weekend. Bap concluded by wishing the partnership a positive and lasting one: " May it be a very long-lasting and positive one , both for Flamengo and Betano."

"Internacional has to put pressure on us, and I have no doubt they'll try. They're looking to keep possession and create dangerous plays . At home, they'll put pressure on Flamengo ," said Filipe Luís in a press conference after their second consecutive victory over Colorado.
