Oscar has been outside Brazil for many years. The former São Paulo, Internacional and Chelsea (ING) player has been at Shanghai Port (CHI) since 2017. Now, this proximity seems to be even greater. O Mais Querido has been closely following the player since 2022, when he made his first attempt to repatriate the midfielder, without success. The player even took a photo with the red and black mantle, but the negotiations did not progress and Oscar remained in Shanghai.
Now International, Corinthians, São Paulo and Flamengo turn their attention once again to the midfielder, who has a contract until November this year, to try to convince him to return to Brazil after 14 years. The Porto Alegre team has been holding talks with the player's staff, according to the newspaper O Dia.
Flamengo's vice-president of football, Marcos Braz, in a recent statement explained the club's desire to count on the athlete in other seasons: "The difficulty of going to China was the adaptation process. When you had him... you have players there who stayed for 5 years, 10 years, stayed their entire career. Oscar doesn't want to leave there . He's already adapted, he wins what he won't win anywhere else in the world. It's his decision. Do you think I didn't want the Oscar here? I already tried.", said Braz.
O The biggest obstacle to counting on the midfielder is precisely the player's high salary. Oscar receives approximately 24 million euros per year, around 10 million reais per month, which makes it impossible for him to leave the Chinese club for any other club on the planet. However, Oscar knows that when he leaves China, he will not find the same values and is determined to adapt his salary to the reality of the market in which he will participate, which has excited Brazilian clubs.
The portal also pointed out that, knowing the possibility, Flamengo plans to contact the midfielder, who can play wide on the right, just as coach Tite wants. But as this is a negotiation that if successful, would only bring the player in at the beginning of 2025, after the Flamengo elections, the red-black club waits a little longer, prioritizing signings that can reinforce the squad in 2024.

The main topic that emerged during the meeting was the support of the SRN to Rodrigo Dunshee's candidacy for president of Flamengo. Dunshee, who currently holds the position of general and legal vice-president of the club, is a prominent figure in the red-black political scene. The group, made up of members who share an aligned vision regarding the club's management, sees in Dunshee a name prepared to take over Flamengo's leadership, especially considering the upcoming electoral cycle.
During the event, members of the SRN highlighted Dunshee's role in the current administration, remembering that he was a fundamental player in several legal achievements of the Flamengo in recent years. The group believes that his experience and proximity to the club's internal processes make him the ideal candidate to succeed current president Rodolfo Landim, whose tenure ends at the end of his term.
Although the initial objective of the meeting was a celebration between the partners, it was inevitable that the conversations turned to Flamengo's political future. The club's presidential elections are approaching, and political groups are already beginning to articulate support and strategies. The SRN, being a strong group within the red-black political structure, has stood out for its organization and capacity to mobilize members.
Those present discussed, among other topics, the possible implications of a possible Dunshee's candidacy. His name has been circulating among members for some time, but now, with the explicit support of the SRN, his candidacy is gaining strength. The members highlighted that Dunshee is a name of continuity, someone who is already part of the current management and deeply knows the challenges and needs of the club. This, in the group's view, represents a positive point, as Dunshee could continue the projects started under the Landim administration.

Flamengo continues to debate whether to look for a replacement for Pedro, a striker who is recovering from an injury. The Flamengo has been moving the transfer market since the beginning of the year. Still in the first window, Rubro-Negro agreed to sell Thiago Maia and Matheuzinho to Internacional and Corinthians, respectively. However, the clubs have not yet paid off their debts and ended up receiving a notification from Rubro-Negro.
According to information from GE, Flamengo notified Internacional this past Tuesday (3). In the document, Mais Queridocollected the first installment of the ten he has to receive from the club from Rio Grande do Sul. The amount is 250 thousand euros (R$ 1.55 million), due on the 20th of last month.
As for Matheuzinho, the payment delay is a little longer. This is because, right from the start, Corinthians paid the first two installments, both in the amount of R$4 million. However, the third and also most expensive, with an expiration date of August 5th, with a value in the range of R$8 million, has not yet been paid. Thus, the São Paulo club was notified for the third time.
