The signing of midfielder Marcos Antônio by Flamengo is getting closer and closer to becoming official. The player, who currently plays for Lazio, is expected to arrive at the Rio club in the mid-year transfer window. According to information released by journalist Venê Casagrande, the contract will be a loan for one year, with an obligation to purchase if some goals are achieved.
Marcos Antônio, who began his career at Athletico-PR and had a notable spell at Shakhtar Donetsk, does not managed to establish himself at Lazio and sees the transfer to Flamengo as an opportunity to gain more minutes on the field and resume the good football that made him stand out in Ukraine. At 22 years old, he arrives with the mission of being an important player in the red and black midfield.
A SACRAMENTED DEAL
The negotiation between Flamengo and Lazio are in their final stages, and just bureaucratic details prevent official announcement. The agreement between the clubs provides that the player will be loaned for one season, with a mandatory buyout clause if certain performance targets are met. These goals include numbers of games played, goals and assists, as well as collective achievements.
The arrival of Marcos Antônio promises to strengthen Flamengo's midfield, which is looking for alternatives to give more dynamism and creativity to the sector. With characteristics of a midfielder, Marcos Antônio stands out for his game vision, passing ability and good approach to attack. He can also act as a second midfielder, offering tactical versatility to coach Tite.
Filipe Luís tries to manage the squad with a firm hand, and the striker needs to perform in training and matches to regain his place at the club.

Pedro's situation at Flamengo has been in the spotlight again in recent days. The number 9 has been sidelined since the match against São Paulo due to a combination of factors: subpar training performance, behavioral issues, and unresolved internal issues.
According to coach Filipe Luís, the center forward wasn't as physically fit as the other players and showed little commitment to his activities. The incident triggered a series of developments that put the player's future at the Rio de Janeiro club in doubt.
During the press conference following the loss to São Paulo, Filipe Luís was blunt when commenting on Pedro's performance at Flamengo. He said the player had the worst physical performance of any athlete during preparation and described his behavior in training as "regrettable" and "disrespectful."
The firm tone surprised some of the press and fans, as a coach rarely publicly exposes an athlete in such a way. The statement generated significant backlash on social media and behind the scenes at the club.
Two days later, the striker spoke out. In a statement posted on social media, Pedro acknowledged his drop in performance but said he felt disrespected by the way the club and the coach handled the situation.
With Bruno Henrique suspended, Filipe Luís analyzes options for the derby; Wallace Yan's performance puts the youngster ahead of Everton Cebolinha

With Bruno Henrique absent due to suspension, coach Filipe Luís will be forced to make changes to Flamengo's attacking sector for the classic against Fluminense, scheduled for this Sunday (20), at 7:30 pm, at Maracanã . The dispute for the spot is between the young Wallace Yan and the experienced Everton Cebolinha, and the balance seems to be tipping towards the red-black promise.
Despite only playing 51 minutes in the Brazilian Championship, Wallace has excelled when called upon, scoring important goals and capturing the fans' attention. According to the ge website, the striker has already surpassed Juninho in the internal pecking order and is currently seen as the main candidate to replace Bruno Henrique in the starting lineup.
Wallace Yan, alongside Bruno Henrique , is the squad's third-highest scorer this season, with seven goals. This is a significant number, especially considering the striker's limited playing time. His effectiveness has been a differentiator, especially compared to the team's more experienced players.
Everton Cebolinha, on the other hand, has played 534 minutes in the Brasileirão, more than ten times as much as Wallace. However, the number 11 has directly contributed to only two goals in the competition and is facing a seven-match drought without contributing assists or goals. The player's inconsistent form has sparked dissatisfaction among fans, increasing the pressure on the coach when choosing the lineup.
Filipe Luís is likely to keep Plata as a false 9 , and if he opts for Everton Cebolinha, the number 11 will be moved to the left side of the attack. However, recent factors favor the selection of Wallace Yan, who has been responding to the opportunities he receives and outperforming his direct competitor.

Olaria, one of the most traditional clubs in the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro, is close to a new chapter in its history. The club, which is facing serious financial difficulties, has scheduled a meeting with its members for next Monday (15) to decide on its transformation into a Football Corporation (SAF) and the sale of 95% of its football rights to a business consortium.
The group interested in the acquisition includes rapper L7nnon, former Flamengo vice-president Marcos Braz, and the sports marketing firm Ric's, which already manages the club's football operations. We're fighting to keep it going. There are a lot of liens and labor lawsuits," Batata told ge.
With the potential sale, the club estimates it will raise R$25 million for the transfer of 95% of its football rights. Part of the proceeds will be allocated to regularizing the club's tax situation, with the promise of obtaining a clearance certificate by the end of August.
According to the notice calling the meeting, the new members intend to make immediate contributions to pay off liabilities and restructure the football department. The proposal is to transform Olaria into an efficient and competitive SAF, with professional management and medium- and long-term planning.
