Flamengo visits Grêmio this Sunday (13), in a match valid for the third round of the Brasileirão. For the match, coach Filipe Luís will have a great reinforcement: the return of Danilo. After recovering from an injury, the defender is back in the red-black team.

50 DAYS OFF THE PITCH

Danilo is back in the Flamengo squad after 50 days, where he last played against Maricá on February 22. The defender suffered an injury to his right thigh, which forced him to be cut from the Brazilian squad for the last two World Cup qualifiers. In the final phase of his recovery, he felt the problem in the same thigh again, which delayed his return to the field.

Danilo returned to training with the main group this week and was named by Filipe Luís. The defender's return is excellent news, as Léo Ortiz and Léo Pereira have faced a grueling sequence in recent weeks.

PEDRO IS ALSO RELATED TO THE GAME AGAINST GRÊMIO

In addition to Danilo, another player who returned to the Flamengo team was Pedro. The striker remains on the list of players related to Rubro-Negro after making his debut last Wednesday (9), in the defeat to Central Córdoba, for the Libertadores.

FOCUS ON THE NEXT CONFRONTATION

Thus, the Flamengo squad travels to Porto Alegre on Saturday afternoon (12), where they will face Grêmio on Sunday (16) , for the third round of the Brasileirão. The game will start at 5:30 pm, at the Arena of the gaúcho club.

Flamengo held a training session at Ninho do Urubu on Wednesday afternoon (17) with the entire squad on the field. However, Pulgar, Jorginho and Alex Sandro are still doing specific work and will not be available for the game on Thursday (18), at 9:30 pm, at Maracanã, for the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores.

Chilean midfielder Erick Pulgar has returned to action on the pitch, but still needs at least two weeks to be cleared for the final phase of physical conditioning. He is recovering from a fracture in the fifth metatarsal of his right foot, suffered in June.

FLAMENGO'S LOSINGS

Jorginho and Alex Sandro are also out of the squad . The Italian-Brazilian midfielder is treating a muscle swelling in his left thigh and is undergoing transition activities supervised by physiotherapists. The left-back, meanwhile, continues to recover from a left calf injury.

Without the trio, Flamengo should enter the field with: Rossi; Varela (or Emerson Royal), Léo Ortiz, Léo Pereira and Ayrton Lucas; De la Cruz (or Allan), Saúl and Arrascaeta; Gonzalo Plata, Bruno Henrique (or Pedro) and Samuel Lino.

STUDENTS IN THE LIBERTADORES

On the other side, coach Eduardo Domínguez projects a balanced match and highlighted Estudiantes' confidence in achieving a good result away from home. The Argentine team had a solid campaign in the group stage, eliminating Cerro Porteño in the round of 16 , and has three away wins, losing only to Botafogo .
