Thus, with a free week for training, Mais Querido has given special attention to two athletes: Gerson and Ayrton Lucas, who presented a high level of physical exhaustion due to the sequence of matches.
According to information from portal Coluna do Fla, both Gerson and Ayrton Lucas presented a high level of physical exhaustion after the match against Fortaleza. In this way, Tite's coaching staff used the time off and also took advantage of the week's activities to recover the players' physique.
AYRTON AND GERSON ARE "SAVED" BY THE BREAK IN THE BRASILEIRÃO
It is worth noting that the CBF postponed Flamengo< /a> against Internacional which would be this week, as the team from Rio Grande do Sul had commitments in the Brazilian and South American Cups. Thus, both teams will have the 17th round of the Brasileirão delayed. However, the break was good for Ayrton Lucas and Gerson, who could suffer injury if they played the full 90 minutes.
FLAMENGO'S SITUATION IN THE BRASILEIRÃO
THE Mais Querido returns to the field only next Saturday (20). Therefore, they will just have to watch the matches of their direct rivals in the fight for the title. With the defeat to Fortaleza, Flamengo fell to third place and now has just 31 points. The leader, Palmeiras, has 33 along with Botafogo.
FOCUS ON THE NEXT CONFRONTATION
So, with the week free, Tite's coaching staff is racing to recover Gerson and Ayrton Lucas. Rubro-Negro will play against Criciúma, next Saturday (20), at 4pm. The match will be at Mané Garrincha, in Brasília.
The player recently completed 100 games with the Manto Sagrado and has already expressed his desire to remain at the club for a few more seasons.

Guilhermo Varela has been a standout for Flamengo this season and has already played 100 games with the Manto Sagrado. The full-back has a contract with the club until the end of the year and wants to stay with the team. Therefore, the Mais Querido is moving quickly to renew his contract. José Boto gave an update on the situation.
José Boto updates Varela's situation: "It's well underway. When we get to Rio, we'll deal with it."
He continued: " We didn't want to go any further because we're in a competition that I think is unique to all of us . Obviously, things don't stop because there's a competition like that, but we sat down and we have things well underway."
It is worth remembering that Varela 's agent was in the United States to meet with José Boto and discuss the full-back's contract renewal. Thus, the parties appear to have reached an agreement and the player will soon be able to sign a new contract with the club.
Last week, Varela reached an important milestone with the Manto Sagrado. The full-back reached 100 games for Flamengo, becoming the 15th foreigner to reach such a number in the history of Mais Querido.
After being eliminated from the Club World Cup, Flamengo will only return to the field on the week of July 13, when they will face São Paulo in the Brasileirão. In the meantime, the red-and-black squad will enjoy a few days of vacation before returning to activities.
The Mais Querido manager spoke about which players and their characteristics the club is looking for in the market; the next window opens on July 10th

With an uncompromising stance on the market for both player arrivals and departures, José Boto opened up and revealed Flamengo's priorities in the transfer window that opens next month. It is worth remembering that the Rubro-Negro raised a considerable amount with its participation in the Club World Cup.
In an interview with GE, José Boto revealed that Flamengo is looking for a midfielder and a winger in the market. Rubro-Negro wants a player who can alternate with Arrascaeta and a "dribbler" striker , who can open up defenses.
José Boto talks about priorities in the market: "There are two positions that we want to strengthen, one because we think there is a lack of a different type of player".
He continued: " And the other, as you have already said, and I have already said publicly, is someone who takes turns with Arrascaeta , so that he doesn't have to play so many games and is always in his best condition," said Boto before adding:
"These are two positions that we have priority in bringing, but without any great rush or need to make mistakes, to do it hastily. Because what we have done so far shows that we are doing well ," he highlighted.
Flamengo seems to have already found Arrascaeta 's replacement. This is because the Mais Querido is negotiating with Jorge Carrascal , a Colombian midfielder who belongs to Dynamo Moscow (RUS). Thus, with the Rubro-Negro's elimination from the Club World Cup, José Boto will intensify talks to close a deal with the player for the rest of the season.
Mengão was defeated by the German club and was therefore eliminated from the FIFA competition, but the former player did not see a big difference in the game

Flamengo was eliminated by Bayern Munich in the Club World Cup, but according to Fábio Luciano, the red-and-black team's performance was far from being a match of absolute dominance by the Germans, as many predicted. The expectation was that Flamengo would suffer with the intensity and volume of play characteristic of the Bavarian team.
Fábio Luciano on Flamengo x Bayern: "It wasn't a broad dominance"
For Fábio Luciano, despite the adverse score, Flamengo had moments of control in the match, as did Bayern. The former defender highlighted that the goals conceded by Rubro-Negro happened precisely when the team was better on the field , which highlights decisive individual errors.
" They weren't production goals. At times, Bayern had control , Bayern pressed up, but Flamengo managed to control. In the best moments that Flamengo, for example, had in the game, Bayern scored their goals, from individual errors," said Fábio Luciano.
Even with the elimination, Flamengo leaves with morale due to its offensive and combative stance against one of the world's football powers. According to Fábio Luciano, the Rubro-Negro showed that, unlike other South American clubs, it does not shy away from European opponents.
"It wasn't a broad dominance, where Bayern suffocated Flamengo and, like, ah, at any moment the goal will come. I think the goals came at moments that perhaps Flamengo didn't expect to concede," he added.
