Flamengo has officially begun a move to revamp its attacking sector with a view to the second half of 2025. The trend is to leave Everton Cebolinha, who has not lived up to expectations since arriving at the club, and there are already ongoing talks to find his replacement. The name of the moment is Pedro, a Zenit striker who recently played for Corinthians.
In the 2-0 victory over Palmeiras in the Brasileirão Betano, Cebolinha was a starter, but left at half-time after a lackluster performance at Allianz Parque. The board believes that it is time to negotiate with the number 11, who has already played ten matches in the current edition of Série A and cannot be registered by another Brazilian club. “Flamengo is trying to get Pedro, 19, from Zenit. He has already scored five goals this season and resembles Plata’s style of play. However, he is not a cheap player,” said the journalist. “It is Pedro that Fla wants at the moment and he would cost around 10 to 15 million euros,” he added.
Internally, the interest is treated with caution, but the name is a consensus among football leaders. Pedro was sold by Corinthians to the Russian club in 2023 for around R$50 million . According to the website Transfermarkt, he is currently valued at 10 million euros (around R$56 million at the current exchange rate). Flamengo will have representatives on the Brazilian national team 's preliminary squad for the friendlies against South Korea and Japan. The names of Léo Ortiz, Alex Sandro, and Samuel Lino have been included by coach Carlo Ancelotti.
