This Friday (21), Sesc Flamengo faces Batavo/Mackenzie at Maracanãzinho, at 9 pm, in the last round of the first phase of the Women's Superliga. The red-black team tries to recover from two consecutive defeats and guarantee a place in the G4 before the start of the playoffs.
Libero Laís, one of the highlights of the season and a candidate for the Brazilian National Team, stressed the importance of maintaining confidence even after the recent negative results. According to her, the team has the capacity to perform at a higher level than it has demonstrated recently.
" We're coming off two very difficult games, against two favorites for the title, and we have another tough opponent ahead of us, which is Mackenzie. This is the Superliga. It's about overcoming fatigue, adversity and maintaining confidence in the work. We know our potential and we have every chance of doing better than in the last few games ," said Laís.
The athlete also highlighted the need to remain focused on the strategy outlined by the coaching staff. "We need to be patient, keep up the training pace and put into practice the tactical plan we are drawing up to overcome this challenge in front of our fans, which has been super important," she concluded.
SCENARIOS FOR SESC FLAMENGO TO REACH G4 IN THE WOMEN'S SUPER LEAGUE
Sesc Flamengo heads into the final round in sixth place in the Superliga, with 39 points accumulated in 12 wins and nine losses. To secure fourth place, which ensures home court advantage in the quarterfinals, Mengão needs to beat Mackenzie and hope that Fluminense (4th) and Sesi Bauru (5th) stumble. Currently, the tricolor has 41 points, while the São Paulo team has the same 39 points as Flamengo.
If they win by 3 sets to 0 or 3 to 1, Mais Querido will depend on Fluminense losing and Sesi Bauru winning, at most, one point in their match. The tricolor from Rio will face Barueri at home, while the São Paulo team will host Maringá. If Rubro-Negro wins in the tie-break, it will be necessary for both Fluminense and Sesi to lose by, at most, 3 sets to 1.
Sesc Flamengo's mission is not simple, mainly because their direct opponents are playing at home and are favorites. However, with a victory and a combination of results , Mengão can reach the G4 and enter the playoffs in a more favorable position.
Mengão defeated the Tijucanas by 3 sets to 1, guaranteeing a place in the Cariocão final, where they will face their rival Fluminense.

Sesc Flamengo achieved an important victory over Tijuca Tênis Clube, this Tuesday (7), and sealed its place in the final of the Carioca Volleyball Championship. After the setback against Fluminense in the previous round, Bernardinho's team reacted with authority and won by 3 sets to 1, with partial scores of 25/21, 25/23 and 25/23.
Despite a brief stumble in the third set, when the opponent showed a strong reaction , Mais Querido maintained control of the match for most of the time and ensured its return to the state final.
The first two sets had a similar storyline: Sesc Flamengo dominated technically and tactically, but faced resistance from Tijuca Tênis Clube. In the first, the red-and-black team opened up a six-point lead, but saw their opponent close in late in the set, finishing 25-21.
The balance continued in the second set. The teams were tied at 20-20, until Mengão managed to open up a two-point lead and close it out at 25-23, extending their lead. In the third set, Tijuca fought back and took an 11-4 lead, exploiting Sesc Flamengo's defensive lapses. However, Bernardinho's team held their nerve, narrowed the gap, and regained control in the final stretch, turning the score around to 25-23.
With this result, Sesc Flamengo secured a spot in the final of the Rio de Janeiro Volleyball Championship, where they will once again face Fluminense—the team they defeated in the previous round. The final promises to be a tight contest, featuring two of the strongest squads in the state.
Mengão started the match well, but let the tricolor resurface, lost the rhythm and suffered the first defeat in the state by 3 sets to 1
