With the presidential elections of Flamengo scheduled for next Monday (09) , candidates intensify their final campaigns. This Tuesday (03), Luiz Eduardo Baptista, Bap, gave an interview to the portal 'Coluna do Fla' and commented on the future of Filipe Luís as coach. According to the candidate, the coach's continuity is not guaranteed if he wins the election.
“There was a conversation with the technical director. But I'm not president of Flamengo yet, we haven't talked to Filipe Luís. Would you hire someone you haven't spoken to? I, for example, don't. So, you have to talk, see if he is willing to buy what you expect, if he is willing to pay the price. Because Flamengo pays well, but we are going to charge more from everyone than we have seen in recent years”, began Bap.
“The role of the technical director is to ensure that what we imagine to be the red-black DNA runs through the entire structure of football on a daily basis. So he (technical director) will have an important say in this, but the last word is not his. So, if he tells me that the contractor won't meet my needs and convinces me of that, I have to respect it. Today, we are happy with Filipe Luís because he is doing an exceptional job, but I understand that I will not fall into this trap of defining something without listening to the technical director”, concluded the candidate.
After the debate between the candidates for the presidency of Flamengo promoted by ESPN, Bap had guaranteed that Filipe Luís would be kept in his position, a speech that changed in the current interview. "Filipe Luís is a heritage of the Nation. Of course he stays", declared the candidate in an interview published by ESPN's X.
FILIPE LUÍS CONTRACT
After the departure of Tite on September 30, Filipe Luís was promoted from the base to take over the technical command of Flamengo, in a decision taken by the management of Rodolfo Landim. His contract runs until December 2025 and includes a low termination penalty, allowing the next board of directors the flexibility to choose another coach.
PERFORMANCE AS A COACH
Since taking office on October 1st, Filipe Luís has commanded Flamengo in 13 games, achieving eight victories, four draws and only one defeat, with a use rate of 71.8%. Under his leadership, the team won the fifth Brazilian Cup title, beating Atlético-MG 4-1 in the final.
ELECTION DETAILS
The election for president of Flamengo will be held on December 9th, at the headquarters of Gávea, from 8am to 9pm (business time). Brasilia). Club members will decide between three candidates:
Rodrigo Dunshee
Luiz Eduardo Baptista (Bap)
Maurício Gomes de Mattos
The winner will assume the command of Flamengo for the 2025-2027 period, replacing current president Rodolfo Landim.
The red-and-black team has the second most valuable squad in the competition, while Argentina has the second cheapest squad among those who qualified.

Flamengo returns to the field this Thursday (18) to face Estudiantes (ARG) in the quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores. The clash pits one of the most expensive squads in the tournament against one of the most financially modest.
According to data from the specialized website ' Transfermarkt ', Estudiantes has the second least valuable squad among those qualified for the quarterfinals, valued at 45.6 million euros (approximately R$283.8 million). Flamengo is at the other end of the list: it has the second most expensive squad in the competition, estimated at 195.1 million euros (approximately R$1.2 billion), behind only Palmeiras.

Flamengo U-20 will be represented at the World Cup by two players. Coach Ramon Menezes called up, this Thursday (18), defenders João Victor and Iago to defend the Brazilian National Team in the tournament. The competition will be held in Chile between September 27 and October 19.
Brazil is in Group C of the U-20 World Cup and will face Mexico, Morocco, and Spain in the initial phase. A total of 24 teams participate in the competition, divided into six groups of four teams each. The top two teams in each group and the four best third-place teams advance to the round of 16. From this stage onward, the matches become knockout until the title is decided.
Goalkeepers: Felipe Longo ( Corinthians ), Lucas Furtado (Vitória-POR) and Otávio (Cruzeiro).

Flamengo said goodbye to the Women's Copa do Brasil this Wednesday (17), after a 1-0 defeat to São Paulo, in the quarterfinals of the tournament. After the final whistle, striker Cristiane spoke out and made harsh criticisms of the refereeing.

"Everyone saw today's match , no need to even talk about it. The refereeing was biased, and it also went wrong in São Paulo's favor. But when the refereeing ends up deciding the match, it gets complicated . I don't know the choices made for a game as big as this, Flamengo vs. São Paulo," the player declared.
She continued: " Unfortunately, today had a big impact on us . We've made significant progress compared to the beginning of the year, that's clear. But when the refereeing has a direct impact, it gets difficult," Cristiane concluded.
The first half of the derby was evenly matched. São Paulo started better, but after 20 minutes, Flamengo began to control possession. Even so, neither team managed to score before halftime . Flamengo is the current state champion and holds the hegemony in women's football in Rio , with eight titles won so far.
