The plastic surgeon calculates the proportion to ensure that the upper third of the face (forehead) is harmonious with the other two thirds of the face.

“This surgery is recommended for patients whose upper third of the face is disproportionate to the rest of the face, which can negatively impact self-esteem”, says Dr. Freire. She highlights that the procedure is not recommended for correcting baldness.
