Last Thursday (22), Flamengo secured its qualification in the Copa Libertadores by eliminating Bolívar, from Bolivia, in a clash marked by the altitude of La Paz. Bruno Sávio, Bolívar's striker, analyzed the match and commented on his team's performance against Flamengo. In an interview with reporter Gabriel Orphão, from the Paparazzo RN channel, Sávio spoke about the difficulties faced by the Bolivian team and highlighted the quality of the opponent.

According to Bruno Sávio, Bolívar entered the field with a well-defined strategy, seeking to take advantage of the altitude to put pressure on Flamengo. "We knew that playing in La Paz would be an advantage for us, mainly because of the altitude. We tried to use that to our advantage, but Flamengo knew how to control the game well", explained the striker. He mentioned that the Bolivian team tried to impose its rhythm, but found it difficult to break through Flamengo's well-organized defense.

A BUCKET OF COLD WATER

Sávio also commented on the technical level of the team. Flamengo , stating that the red and black team knew how to neutralize Bolívar's main moves. "They are a very qualified team, with experienced players who know how to deal with pressure. Even playing at altitude, they managed to adapt quickly and didn't give us space," he said. The attacker highlighted that Flamengo was not intimidated by the adverse conditions and managed to maintain possession of the ball, making Bolívar's offensive actions difficult.

The recent change in the Brazilian football calendar continues to generate controversy . Flamengo, which had weeks off after being eliminated from the Copa do Brasil, saw this plan compromised by the change made by the CBF . However, this Monday (25), Filipe Luís's team showed strength: they thrashed Vitória 8-0 at Maracanã, after four days of rest. For the coach, the break was decisive for the performance.

Filipe Luís on his break at Flamengo: "It will be demonstrated one day and it will change"

"The club has already taken a position, and I prefer not to comment on the matter (of changing the calendar). Players with four days of rest fly, and then after every three days they can't perform. This hasn't been proven yet; it will be proven one day, and it will change . I'm absolutely certain that, scientifically, they will demonstrate that a player needs four days to fully recover. It won't be this year," the coach stated.

DECISIVE REST

Before facing Vitória, Flamengo had faced Internacional on Wednesday (20). Thus, the interval between the two commitments guaranteed a four-day recovery period , exactly what Filipe Luís defends as ideal for athletes to reach maximum performance.

HOW WAS THE ROUTE?

Flamengo gave their opponent no chance . Just two minutes into the game, the scoreboard was already 2-0, with goals from Samuel Lino and Pedro. Later in the first half, Arrascaeta extended the lead. In the second half, Flamengo accelerated and built a historic rout: Pedro (twice), Lino, Luiz Araújo, and Bruno Henrique sealed the 8-0 victory.

NEXT CHALLENGE

After the result, fans are already planning their next match. Flamengo will have another four days of rest before facing Grêmio on Sunday (31), at 4 pm (Brasília time), for the 22nd round of the Brasileirão. Mengão is the isolated leader of the competition with 46 points, four more than the second-placed Palmeiras.

The recent change in the Brazilian football calendar, promoted by the CBF, has generated strong dissatisfaction at Flamengo . The club's president, Luiz Eduardo Baptista (BAP), stated that the Rubro-Negro was consulted, presented its opposition , and was ultimately ignored by the organization.

Flamengo president Bap on CBF change: "They were supposed to evaluate it and never came back"

The changes defined the end of the Brasileirão to be brought forward to December 7th and the Copa do Brasil to be postponed to the same month, in order to avoid conflict with the Intercontinental Cup. For Flamengo , however, the decision directly affected their season planning.

PRIORITIES AT RISK

Since the beginning of the year, the club prioritized the Brasileirão and the Libertadores, even using mixed teams in the Copa do Brasil , which resulted in early elimination. However, the relegation was offset by the guaranteed free weeks for recovery and training, a benefit lost with the CBF's change. According to internal calculations, at least four rest dates were removed.

Bap lamented the incident and highlighted the organization's lack of response: " We clearly stated that our priorities were the Brasileirão and the Libertadores . They promised to evaluate the situation and never responded. They decided, and that was it," the director told journalist Rodrigo Mattos.

FLAMENGO X CBF: CONSULTATION WITHOUT RESPONSE

According to the journalist, the CBF consulted with Flamengo and Palmeiras before making a decision. The São Paulo club, more aligned with the organization, accepted the proposal. The Rubro-Negro, on the other hand, formalized its rejection in writing . Last Monday (25), after the 8-0 rout over Vitória, the Mais Querido released an official statement reaffirming its opposition and criticizing the CBF's unilateral decision.

Flamengo's institutional relations manager, Dekko Roisman, emphasized that elimination from the Copa do Brasil shouldn't negate the right to rest. Furthermore, the club was asked about the possibility of using an alternate team in the event of a clash between the Brasileirão and the Intercontinental Cup, but the response was categorical: such a change would only benefit the Libertadores winner and compromise the championship's equality.
