Flamengo received good news on the eve of the decisive match against Deportivo Táchira (VEN) in the last round of the Libertadores group stage. Midfielder Gerson, who was in doubt after feeling pain in his knee in the draw with Palmeiras last Sunday (25), trained normally and is available to coach Filipe Luís. Gerson suffered a slight inflammation in his left knee during the duel against Palmeiras and worried the red-black medical department. However, the positive response to treatments, both in the gym and on the field, was decisive for his release.
Still, Filipe Luís should wait until just before the game to make a decision about the defensive midfielder's starting position. If the "Joker" is not fit to play the full 90 minutes, Allan stands out as the natural replacement and could start in the starting eleven. The coach gained another option in the midfield precisely with the return of Allan, who recovered from a thigh injury suffered against Bahia in the Brazilian Championship. The player trained normally and has also been released by the DM.
The doubt between Gerson and Allan is the only question mark in a team that, despite some important absences, arrives practically defined for the match this Wednesday. Defender Léo Ortiz returns to the starting lineup after serving an automatic suspension in the Brasileirão and is confirmed for the first leg of the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals against Estudiantes.
In addition to Léo Ortiz , other players are available again for Filipe Luís , including Varela and Bruno Henrique, who were rested against Juventude. Alex Sandro and Jorginho, on the other hand, remain doubtful and will have their fitness assessed shortly before the match.
