Flamengo will have a special Mantle for next Sunday's match (29), against Athletico, at 8pm, at Maracanã, for the Brazilian Championship. The athletes' shirts will have the brand of the national program "Before It Happens", in partnership with the State Secretariat for Women. The project is made up of actions to prevent and combat violence against women.

Relying on the partnership of Pixbet, which provided the master sponsorship space, and will appear in a smaller size, Rubro-Negro carries out another action alongside of the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro. On Monday (23), an event marked the signing of the protocol to combat violence against women, at the Gávea headquarters. At the same time, Christ the Redeemer was lit up in lilac.

Landim expressed the club's commitment and highlighted an alarming fact.

“We were very honored to participate in this initiative. It is shocking to realize that the majority of femicides happen to women who already have protective measures. This shows that we need to intensify our efforts. Flamengo is committed to supporting this very important cause, so that football is always a space of joy and not violence”, commented Landim.

“We are taking another important step in the fight against violence and to protect our state’s girls and women by creating safer, more welcoming spaces. With the strength of Flamengo and this partnership, we want to take this message of respect and preventive protection to more and more people”, stated governor Cláudio Castro.

After the signing, Christ the Redeemer was lit up in lilac, reinforcing the symbolism of the fight against gender violence. The protocol also provides for lectures and awareness initiatives within the sporting universe, involving athletes and fans.

Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid, MVP of the 2022/23 NBA season, once again demonstrated his affection for Flamengo . Last Thursday (21), the Cameroonian player was spotted in an official club store, in Cabo Frio (RJ) , where he made a point of purchasing several red-black products.

A SURPRISING VISIT

Although unusual, Embiid's presence in the Lakes Region has a reason. Married to Brazilian model Anne de Paula, the athlete often visits the city, where his father-in-law lives, during the holidays. This time, he took the opportunity to explore the "Nação Rubro-Negra" store and expand his Flamengo memorabilia collection.

ENTHUSIASM IN THE STORE

The star's arrival took everyone by surprise and caused great excitement among the employees. Salesman Kauan said he was so nervous when he met the player that he forgot to remove the alarm from a piece of furniture, creating an unusual moment: " His father-in-law even joked with me afterward. It was an unforgettable experience ," he revealed.
