Flamengo forwarded an agreement with Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) to receive compensation for Pedro's serious injury while serving the Brazilian team. Accepted into the FIFA Club Protection Program, which will cover the striker's salary until his return, Fla asked the Brazilian entity to cover the monthly costs of image rights. This way, you will not have any “loss” with Camisa 9.
The FIFA program is committed to pay the salaries of athletes injured in the national teams. In Brazil, however, players' salaries are divided into CLT and image rights. The division is usually 60% in the portfolio, which the entity will cover, and the other 40% are precisely the reason for the agreement between Fla and CBF. The hit information comes from journalist Luiza Sá, from 'UOL'.
Pedro underwent surgery on September 13th and is expected to be away from the field for up to eight months. As the top scorer's salary is around R$1 million, R$8 million will be paid to the club if the deadline is confirmed. R$4.8 million will be FIFA's responsibility, while CBF will pay R$3.2 million.
The border of the Club Protection Program is 7.5 million euros (R$46.6 million) in 365 days, while the CBF has its own insurance to cover these cases. This is what Rodrigo Caetano, the entity's selection coordinator, revealed when asked last month.
“All The selected athlete has mandatory insurance from FIFA in addition to insurance contracted by the CBF. This is being handled by the legal department, but I believe it is a right. What I can tell you is that the CBF is a facilitator in every way so that not Pedro, but Flamengo, is entitled to this type of compensation.”
Pedro remains at the top of Brazil's artillery in 2024
Without playing for Flamengo since September 1st, For more than a month, Pedro has comfortably held the position of Brazil's top scorer. The red-and-white Shirt 9 was having the best season of his career and scored 30 goals in the 43 matches he played.
The second placed is Juan Martín Lucero, from Fortaleza, who scored 23 goals this year. With nine rounds remaining until the end of the Brasileirão and with closer players outside the knockout stages, Pedro could even end the year as top scorer. The biggest threats are: Pitta (Cuiabá-21 goals), Flaco López (Palmeiras-21 goals) and Yuri Alberto (Corinthians-20 goals).
The striker was suspended for 12 games for Mengão in matches organized by the CBF, but the court will ask for it to be extended to continental matches.

Bruno Henrique's 12-game suspension , initially valid only for the Brazilian Championship, may extend beyond national borders . The ruling in the first instance trial at the Superior Court of Justice (STJD) calls for a letter to be sent to the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) requesting that the suspension be extended to FIFA at the end of the trial.
The court's prosecutor suggested internationalizing Bruno Henrique 's sentence based on two regulations:
The rapporteur of the case, Dr. Alcino Guedes, accepted the suggestion. During the trial, he emphasized that it would make no sense to limit the punishment to Brazil alone : "It would make no sense if the punishments applied were disregarded outside Brazil, as a free pass for the accused to act freely in another country, especially given the gravity of the disciplinary infractions committed."
Despite the ruling, the official letter to the CBF will only be sent after the second instance trial, a date yet to be set. Flamengo appealed to the STJD Plenary and also requested a stay of execution to release Bruno Henrique pending the conclusion of the case.
Even if the suspension isn't granted immediately, the forward is expected to be available to face Estudiantes in the Copa Libertadores next week. This is because the international ban can only be applied after the final ruling, which has yet to be announced.
The striker could have opportunities again after Bruno Henrique's suspension and uses the break in the calendar to attract Filipe Luís' attention at Mengão
