It wasn't this time that Tite scored his first three wins for Flamengo. That's because the red and black team went to Arena do Grêmio this Wednesday and were defeated by the home team 3x2, in an upset. Despite having played a very good game, the red and black team succumbed in the last third of the match and thus lost the chance to pass second-place Bragantino and touch the leader, Botafogo.SUMMARY
Flamengo was superior in most of the initial stage. It started better than Grêmio, then saw the Gaúcho team equalize its actions, but always remained dangerous, hanging around the Grêmio area. Gerson and Arrascaeta finished with danger. Grêmio, on the other hand, had arrivals with less force, the main one being a quick throw-in for João Pedro Galvão. Flamengo's advantage was built on a quick escape. Everton Cebolinha passed Geromel near midfield, took off, passed Villasanti and left Kannemann and Gabriel Grando on the ground to open the scoring before the break.
In the second half everything seemed the same, however, the game it got worse technically. Grêmio threatened to try something, but the red and black defense did well. However, he couldn't clearly reach Grando's goal. But as we are talking about football, everything changed from 25 minutes onwards. This is because Grêmio surprisingly drew and turned the match around, leaving the Rio team bewildered. So much so that at 40 minutes, the Gaúcho team increased the score with striker André. The red-and-black team even decreased with Luiz Araújo at the end, but the result remained and Grêmio emerged victorious.
NEXT COMMITMENT?
With the defeat suffered by the Gauchos, the team Carioca stops surpassing Bragantino (who lost to Atlético-Mg 2-1) and remains with the same 50 points, but now in fourth place, behind Palmeiras, who thrashed São Paulo.
It is worth remembering that Botafogo did not play in the round and had their game against Fortaleza postponed.
The red-black team's next opponent would be third-placed Bragantino, but the game was postponed due to the Maracanã being stopped for the Libertadores final. Therefore, the team led by Tite takes the field on the 1st, at 8pm against Santos, in a location to be defined.
After a serious injury suffered at the Club World Cup, the Chilean continues physiotherapy at the Mais Querido training center; Alex Sandro and the Italian are also recovering.

Estudiantes is already in Rio de Janeiro for the first leg of the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals against Flamengo , scheduled for Thursday (18), at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã. The Argentine team trained at Fluminense's facilities , preparing for the decisive duel.
Coach Eduardo Domínguez tested a more conservative formation, including an extra defensive midfielder in midfield, as a strategy to contain Flamengo's attacks. According to Radio Província 1270 in La Plata, the change could result in only one striker on the field , demonstrating a more solid defensive posture.
Estudiantes ' likely lineup for the clash includes: Muslera; Gómez, Nuñez, Rodríguez, Arzamendia; Ascacibar, Piovi, Amondarain, Medina, Tiago Palacios; Carrillo.
It's not yet clear whether Piovi will play as an extra midfielder or be replaced by Castro . Amondarain, despite being an attacking midfielder, could drop back and act as a third midfielder, depending on Domínguez's strategy in recent training sessions.
With the prospect of a more closed Argentine team, Flamengo, under the command of Filipe Luís, will have to work hard to break down Estudiantes' defense and seek a positive result in the first leg of the Libertadores quarterfinals.
