Globo announced an agreement with DAZN to broadcast the Super Club World Cup in the USA, with the participation of Palmeiras, Flamengo , Fluminense and Botafogo. The amount of the contract is much lower than FIFA's original request (it was not possible to find out the amount.)
When creating the World Cup, FIFA had an ambitious plan from a revenue perspective. The initial projection was to obtain US$4 billion from television and marketing. It was at this time that the first conversation with Globo took place. FIFA's request was for amounts close to those paid for the World Cup. The broadcaster did not continue the negotiation. The same process occurred in other countries.
As a result, FIFA backed down and ended up closing a global package worth US$1 billion with DAZN. There is information about money from Saudi investors in the video platform that was facing financial difficulties.
DAZN could resell rights around the world, in addition to broadcasting the games on its platform. Talks with Globo have been resumed, as well as with CazéTV. The streaming channel closed a package. After that, Globo agreed with DAZN on a package of games with all the matches of Brazilian teams, shared with CazéTV, in addition to the final and opening. There is also a split of the semifinals.
In the remaining matches, Globo and CazéTV will each split 50% of the matches. In total, Globo plans to broadcast 25 games, while SporTV plans to broadcast 40. According to UOL, Globo paid a much lower price for the package than for World Cups. This shows that FIFA was forced to adapt to market reality.
The assessment within the Rio de Janeiro broadcaster, however, is that the World Cup could increase in value in future editions depending on audiences. This generally has an impact on subsequent negotiations. The competition is seen as a product that was missing from the calendar.

The match will be broadcast exclusively on Premiere , Grupo Globo's pay-per-view service, available with a monthly or annual subscription. The match, which marks the first leg of the Brasileirão 's second half, will be played at 6:30 p.m. (Brasília time) at Beira-Rio Stadium in Porto Alegre.

The Brasileirão match takes place during the break in the Copa Libertadores dispute between the two clubs. In the first leg of the round of 16, Mengão won 1-0 at Maracanã. The return leg will be next Wednesday (20), also at Beira-Rio, at 9:30 pm . The winner of this continental clash will face the winner of the duel between Cerro Porteño-PAR and Estudiantes-ARG in the quarterfinals.
