This Saturday afternoon (11) Flamengo and Fluminense will meet again for the 34th round of the Brazilian Championship. The game is scheduled to start, at Maracanã, at 6:30 pm (Brasília time), making the championship valid for Mais Querido. Even though it is one of the most classic clashes in national football, it will have a completely new element.

For the first time in the history of Brazilian football, the current coach of the Brazilian National Team will face his immediate predecessor in the position. Tite and Diniz will meet for the first time as coaches of rival teams, both of whom have a history with 'Amarelinha'.

Tite was fired from the Brazilian team at the end of last year, after the early elimination at the World Cup in Qatar. The red-black was in charge of the national team for six years, since the beginning of 2016 and participated in two world championships with the squad. He entered Mais Querido at the beginning of October this year.

Diniz signed his contract to be interim coach of the national team in July this year, also working with the Rio tricolor. He signed for one year with the Canarian team, occupying the future position of Carlo Ancelotti, who, in July 2024, must leave Real Madrid (ESP). Since then, he has been leading the team in the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

Flamengo arrives in this match with two consecutive victories - against Fortaleza and against Palmeiras -, trying to reach the top three on the leaderboard, which are tied with 59 points, just three more than Fla. Fluminense returns to Maraca for the first time, after winning the Libertadores on this same pitch last Saturday (04).

De la Cruz returns to the starting lineup in place of Léo Ortiz, and Alex Sandro and Plata were retained. Following is the Red and Black lineup:Rossi, Varela, Fabrício Bruno, Léo Pereira and Alex Sandro; Pulgar, De la Cruz, Gerson and Arrascaeta; Plata and Bruno Henrique.

Alex Sandro and Plata, debutants in last Sunday's classic, remain in the team after having good performances in the draw against Vasco. Gabigol is now out of the relationship due to fibrosis in the posterior muscle of his right thigh. Flamengo, in a statement, reported that the athlete did not suffer any injury in the region. Check it out:

"The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that the athlete Gabriel Barbosa underwent tests that did not diagnose an injury to the posterior muscle of his right thigh. However, the Technical Committee opted for precaution and did not list him for the duel against Peñarol due to fibrosis in the region. Gabi is handed over to physiotherapists and physical trainers for the series of decisive games of the season."
