Last Friday (29), Hugo Souza, former Flamengo goalkeeper, caught the attention of the international media. Currently, the 23-year-old player is at Chaves, in Portugal. Hugo “Neneca” entered the field in the game against Benfica. In the match, he became prominent after saving three penalties, one of which was taken by Di María, probed by Grêmio. In the game, valid for the 27th round of the Portuguese Championship, the first save was in the 26th minute. Di María took the shot, and Hugo waited until the last moment, jumped to the right and slotted in the ball.

The two other saves were from kicks by Brazilian Arthur Cabral. The first ball stopped at the goalkeeper, on loan from Flamengo. The VAR, however, caught an invasion, and the charge was repeated. The Brazilian striker hit again, but Hugo shone. It was leaked by João Neves, who secured the victory.

After his performance in the match, Hugo, who had already attracted attention for his performance in the match against Sporting, received many praise from the international press. Rádio Observador, from Portugal, considered the goalkeeper as the true star of the match.

During the podcast E o Campeão É, journalists stated that, in place of João Neves, he was considered the 'Man of the Jogo', alongside Amorim, another highlight in the clash between Benfica and Chaves.

The newspaper Record also praised the player. For the daily, in addition to saving the three penalties, Hugo Souza managed to show his skills. “He has everything it takes to be a complete goalkeeper”, stated the newspaper.

The daily A Bola stated that the goalkeeper was fundamental for Chaves. “He could concede three goals and he would always be the team's main protagonist”, pointed out the newspaper about his performance. “He lost the game, that’s for sure. But take home a beautiful story to tell”, he praised.

A former Flamengo target in the primeira window of the year, is almost certainly a rival from Rio. This is because Botafogo overcame previous difficulties with Udinese and is still in the process of signing Matheus Martins, a 21-year-old striker. The operation will cost 10 million euros (R$ 60 million), with a further 2 million euros in bonuses, for 90% of the attacker's economic rights.

Only the athlete's signature separates the negotiation from being assured officially, but both parties already consider the operation as done.

Flamengo even negotiated with the striker, while he was on vacation in Rio de Janeiro. Some meetings took place, but there was no agreement with the Europeans. Another point was that at the time of the red-black attack, the player had the desire to continue in Europe.

Flamengo Window

So far, the rubro-negro< /a> has not signed any players since the start of the transfer window. The attempts with midfielder Marcos Antônio were unsuccessful and the Rio club ended up taking a beating from São Paulo, which signed the player. So far, the only name in which Flamengo is negotiating is with midfielder Claudinho, from Zenit, in Russia. Despite the Russians' tough game, everything is fine between the player and Flamengo.

CARLINHOS PLAYS AS A NEW NAME GIVEN BY THE FANS:"BELLINGHAM DA GÁVEA"

The striker received his nickname due to his goal celebrations

Last Wednesday (24), striker Carlinhos secured three points for Flamengo over Vitória. Due to his way of celebrating, the player received the nickname "Bellingham da Gávea" from the red-black fans. Thus, the athlete commented on the joke.

"For me: Ronaldo, Romário and Adriano, I'm a big fan of them and I always try to imitate them. I know there's a lot missing. And I like the fans because they're creative: “it's Adriano Imperador's Avatar”, “Bellingham da Gávea”… That's cool. Here, for the guys, I'm the “thunder” because a partner of mine said: “Can I make a stop at your boot”? forget it", he said, in an interview with FlaTV.

CARLINHOS TALKS ABOUT THE REASON FOR THE CELEBRATION

In addition to commenting on the fans' joke, Carlinhos also spoke about the meaning of the way he celebrates goals as a Flamengo player.

"I came from an evangelical family, and at home there were a lot of evangelical films. Even though my name is Carlos Moisés, I always liked the opposite side, which is Pharaoh Ramses . My mother would scold me, I would put my hand on my waist (laughs)", he said, before finishing:

"When I grew up, I always did this to her: “Mom, Ramses has arrived”. In this review I told my brothers that this was going to be the celebration. My posture was stupid, but it was more to provoke my mother. This position he takes is one of authority, a bit harshly, I identified with the celebration", he concluded.

FOCUS ON THE NEXT CONFRONTATION

So, with Carlinhos at his disposal, Flamengo started preparation for the clash against Atlético-GO this Friday afternoon (26). The game will be on Sunday (28), valid for the 20th round of the Brasileirão, at 4pm.

Hugo Souza, a prominent goalkeeper in Brazilian football, opened his heart in an interview with Charla Podcast, revealing details of his journey and the challenges he faced when receiving a R$400,000 luxury car at the beginning of his career. With a sincere and reflective tone, Hugo shared how this turn of events impacted his life and made him reflect on the choices and responsibilities that accompany success.

Right at the beginning of the conversation, Hugorevealed what it was like to receive a gift so valuable coming from a humble family. "It was a gift. I came from a family with nothing, and overnight we managed to have something, okay? And then when that happens, it's difficult for you to change the key", he explained. The emotion and surprise of the present were accompanied by a difficulty in dealing with the sudden change in reality.

FLAMENGO HAS A DECISION POINT

Hugo highlighted the lack of instruction and preparation to deal with with the new phase of your life. "I didn't have any instructions to create security at that moment, I just wanted to live the dream. Suddenly my life changed. I didn't have my father, I took care of my mother, to this day I take care of my sister... It was all up to me . So I said: 'Hey, there's already all this pressure on me, I'm going to enjoy it a little'." The responsibility< /a> of taking care of his family, combined with the sudden change in status, created a challenging scenario for the young athlete.

Reflection on the impact of fame and money was also a central point of the interview. Hugo admitted that he got carried away and that his focus on football suffered. "But I think I failed to understand that I only had that because I was focused on football. If I lost that focus I would lose things", he confessed. The ease and the feeling of momentary power led to mistakes typical of youth, as he himself admits: "Did I make a mistake? Of course, I was a 20-year-old kid."
