Corinthians was informed by Flamengo about the interest of City Group on goalkeeper Hugo Souza, currently linked to the São Paulo club on loan until the end of the year. With the deadline to decide on the purchase of the athlete set for November 30th, Timão needs to make a quick decision to avoid losing the player to the conglomerate, which has already expressed a desire to negotiate directly with Mais Querido, Hugo's home club Souza.
Given the scenario, the Corinthians board considers next week to be crucial to finalizing the negotiation and secure the goalkeeper permanently. According to Trivela sources and the initial publication by journalist Venê Casagrande, Grupo City remains attentive to the movement, increasing the pressure on the São Paulo club to make a decision.
TIMÃO RE-EVALUATES PAYMENT MODEL TO KEEP HUGO SOUZA
To make the purchase viable, Corinthians is studying changing the payment model initially proposed. The value set in the contract with the CRF is 800 thousand euros (approximately R$5.1 million at the current exchange rate).
The original plan provided for payment in four semi-annual installments between January 2025 and June 2026. However, to ensure permanence of Hugo Souza and not risk losing him to Grupo City, the board admits the possibility of paying the amount in full.

This Sunday (31), information emerged that Al-Ittihad, from Saudi Arabia, opened talks to try to sign the athlete, just 45 days after his arrival in Russia . The news caught the attention of Flamengo fans, as the Joker left Brazil in one of the main transfers of the season.
Journalist Julio Miguel Neto reported that he spoke with Marcão, the player's father and representative. According to him, there has been no official contact so far from the athlete, who left Mais Querido to play for the Russian team.
" If anything came up, it was from club to club. I haven't been officially notified by anyone yet. I haven't offered him to any club ," the businessman declared.

Flamengo returns to the field this Sunday (31) to face Grêmio , in a match valid for the 22nd round of the Brazilian Championship. The duel takes place at Maracanã, at 4 pm (Brasília time), and marks another challenge for the team led by Filipe Luís, who leads the competition with 46 points.
For the match, the coach confirmed the entry of De La Cruz in midfield, filling in for the injured Jorginho. Flamengo will therefore field the following players: Rossi; Varela, Léo Ortiz, Léo Pereira, and Ayrton Lucas; De La Cruz, Saúl, and Arrascaeta; Gonzalo Plata, Samuel Lino, and Pedro.
Mengão will be without three players. Erick Pulgar is still recovering from foot surgery, while Alex Sandro is nursing a calf injury.
