Flamengo 's top scorer in the 2025 Rio de Janeiro title campaign , Wallace Yan is one of Mengão's pleasant surprises at the start of the season. The player has shown different characteristics than he used to in the youth team. The change came after working with Filipe Luís in the under-20s last year. “Filipe Luís took me off the team after the 3-0 defeat to Fortaleza (in last year’s Under-20 Brazilian Championship). I said: ‘ he wants to screw me over ’. He helped me a lot to understand the processes”, said Wallace Yan, in an interview with Julio Miguel Neto.
Before Filipe Luís joined Flamengo 's under-20 team last year, Wallace Yan was a winger . However, the coach saw potential for the current number 64 to play as a center forward and, in the Campeonato Carioca, the change paid off . The youngster from Ninho scored four times in the title-winning campaign.
At 20 years old, Wallace Yan is living a dream. After all, he is passionate about the club . In fact, the striker plans to hang up his boots at Rubro-Negro.
“I want to retire at Flamengo . If I go to Europe and one day have to come back, my priority will be Flamengo. It’s my favorite team, right?” he added.
Last year's U-20 Libertadores champion, Wallace Yan is now dreaming of an opportunity in South America's top competition. The striker is competing for a spot on the list of players for Venezuela, where Flamengo will face Deportivo Táchira (VEN) on Thursday (03), away from home. The ball starts rolling at 9:30 pm (Brasília time).
The defender continues to improve physically and should return to the field against Internacional in the Brasileirão, after a six-match absence.

Since the victory over Fluminense on July 20, Flamengo's defense has faced a challenge in the absence of Danilo. The defender has missed six consecutive games, including the Copa do Brasil round of 16, but is showing significant progress in his recovery and is expected to return to training with the squad later this week.

On Monday afternoon (11), Conmebol confirmed that the 2025 Copa Libertadores da América final will be played at the Monumental Stadium in Lima, Peru, on November 29. This will be the second time that the venue hosts a tournament decision, after having hosted Flamengo 's historic victory over River Plate in 2019.
The arena, which belongs to the University Club and seats approximately 80,000 spectators , was chosen by the organization after the Peruvian capital had already been confirmed as the host city in April. Brasília and Montevideo were also in the running, but were left out of the final selection.
