Before the end of the 2023 season, Flamengo needs to resolve some outstanding issues regarding its squad. One of these issues under discussion is the renewal of the contract with left-back Filipe Luís. He currently has a valid contract with Rubro-Negro until the end of December this year, and his decision on his future at the club is conditional on the arrival of a new coach.

Filipe Luís has been part of the Flamengo squad since 2019 and is now in the final stages of his contract with the club. He is waiting for the new coach to be hired to better understand the team's planning and, based on this, the board itself is already considering saying goodbye to the full-back at the end of Cariocão 2024.

To date, the Flamengo has not yet started talks to extend Filipe Luís' contract. Internally, within the club, there are different opinions regarding the player's continuity in the squad. However, if Filipe Luís does not renew with the club and chooses to end his career, he will receive a farewell worthy of an idol, with special treatment.

Initially, the Flamengo board intended to start conversations about renewing contracts with the players after the end of the Copa do Brasil. However, with the dismissal of Jorge Sampaoli and the wait to complete negotiations with Tite, the club chose to postpone this matter until a later date.

In addition to Filipe Luís, other players from Flamengo's current squad They are also eager to see what the future holds at the club. With their contracts in force until December 2023, Bruno Henrique and Everton Ribeiro have already aroused the interest of other clubs. However, it is important to highlight that both athletes expressed their desire to remain at Rubro-Negro.
