This Sunday (03), Flamengo played against Cuiabá, in the 37th round of the Brazilian Championship. In the second half of the match, when Mais Querido was winning 2-0, Mato Grosso's idol, Deyverson, was replaced and left the field in a somewhat unusual scene. The red and black fans, in the Maracanã stands, booed the athlete, while he applauded and apologized to the Flamengo fans.

Before apologizing, Deyverson had pointed to his tattoo with the Libertadores cup, which represents the time in which he himself won the title with Palmeiras in 2021. On that occasion, Flamengo lost to Verdão in the final, with a goal in stoppage time from the athlete himself, closing the score at 2-1, when everyone believed that they would have to play extra time.

"I apologized for the Libertadores goal, but it's my profession, I have to score a goal. It's a historic goal that was marked in my career and in my life. Some fans have a certain resentment towards me, but many They treated us with care. I took a photo with most of them outside (in the Maracanã parking lot)", explained the star after the match.

"Bringing this good energy, knowing that there is a rivalry on the field, that is part of my job and theirs. Flamengo has provocative players too. Everyone knows that things die on the field and Outside of it, we continue to live naturally", he added.

It ended up that due to the last commitment between Deyverson and Flamengo, the Cuiabá star was unable to help his team as much. Mais Querido's penultimate game of the season ended 2-1 for the red-black team. The Rio team achieved third place in the table, with 66 points, while Cuiabá remains in 12th, qualifying, for now, for the South American Championship.

Mengão's next, and last, game is this Wednesday (06), against São Paulo, at 9:30 pm (Brasília time).

Speculated as a possible reinforcement of Flamengo to fill the gap left by Pedro, striker Anthony Martial is free on the market, but has not played since December 9, 2023. On that occasion, Manchester United, his former club, entered the field to face Bournemouth and lost 3-0 in the Premier League. Martial was a starter and played for 56 minutes.

At the beginning of the year, the French striker suffered a groin injury that required surgery. Therefore, he was away for around 42 days, only returning in March. Even though there were three months left on his contract, Manchester United chose to let go of the player. Since then, Martial has been evaluating his next club and Flamengo is paying attention to his movements.

Just like Flamengo, Anthony Martial suffered from injuries in 2023/24. The star had several physical problems that kept him away from the field for a total of 60 days. Due to muscle pain, the player was not available for United in 12 matches last season.

Status of the deal between Flamengo and Anthony Martial

If the If Flamengo is really interested in the Frenchman, they will have to race against time and agree on the signing by Monday (9). Registration for free players is closing. According to Italian journalist Luca Bendoni, who works at the Gianluca Dimarzio portal, the deal could come to fruition soon.

Offered to Flamengo by his staff, Martial also had a drop in his personal numbers. In the 2022/23 season, the player scored six goals and provided two assists in the Premier League. In 2023/24, it was just one goal and no pass that resulted in the ball in the opponents' net.

Pedro is standing out in the 2024 Brazilian Championship as the player with the highest number of direct participation in goals. With 11 goals scored and 5 assists distributed, he leads the ranking of offensive contributions in the competition, totaling 16 decisive actions for Flamengo so far. This performance reaffirms Pedro's crucial role in the red-black team's attack, highlighting his efficiency both in finishing and in constructing plays.

Just behind Pedro, in second place, appears Estêvão, another highlight of the team. championship. The player, who has accumulated 15 direct participations in goals, with 8 goals scored and 7 assists, has been one of the main people responsible for boosting his team's offensive sector. Estêvão's versatility, capable of finishing with precision and also serving his teammates with decisive passes, places him as one of the most complete players in the competition.

FLAMENGO HAS A GUNNER AND WAITER

In third place, Matheus Pereira appears with 11 direct contributions, 6 goals and 5 assists. Just like Pedro and Estêvão, Matheus Pereira has been a fundamental player for his team, adding value both in creating and finishing plays. His ability to position himself strategically on the field has made it easier to score goals and create opportunities for his teammates.

Pedro, with his leadership in the ranking of goals and assists, stands out not only for his statistics, but also for the impact that his actions have on Flamengo's results. Pedro's ability to finish plays with precision is evident, but his understanding of the game goes beyond numbers, contributing significantly to the team's overall performance. Each of his 16 direct goal contributions was decisive in key moments of the championship, and their importance goes far beyond what the numbers might suggest.
Estêvão, despite being slightly behind Pedro in terms of total participation, shows an excellent combination of offensive skills. With 8 goals and 7 assists, Estêvão not only knows how to finish plays, but also understands the right moment to make the pass that will result in a goal. This demonstrates a keen vision of the game and an ability to adapt to what the match requires, whether to score or create.
