Flamengo U-20 faces Bayer Leverkusen this Friday (18), in a pre-season friendly match. Thus, the German team trains at CT Ninho do Urubu. In an interview with the press, the technical director of the German team, Simon Rolfes, highlighted that he has not met with Filipe Luís yet, but hopes to be able to talk to the coach of Mais Querido soon.
It's worth noting that Bayer Leverkusen attempted to sign Filipe Luís in 2019, when he was still playing left-back for Atlético Madrid. However, the former player declined the offer and, shortly after, agreed to a transfer to Flamengo.

Rolfes also spoke about the failed attempt to strengthen Bayer Leverkusen with Filipe Luís. The director emphasizes that he was not hurt by the current coach's refusal , who at the time was still playing.
"I don't think we were at the level we are today at that time. We had lunch in Madrid, had a good conversation, but in the end we weren't able to sign him. I think we would have had a better chance today. Soon after, I found out he had signed with Flamengo. He already had in mind that he would become a coach, and I'm very happy for him ," he said before adding:
"At the time he said he wanted to go to a club where he could win titles, and in the end he got it at Flamengo. He wanted to win titles and he won many ," Rolfes highlighted.
Thus, now Flamengo coach, Filipe Luís began this Thursday (17), the preparation of the squad for the match against Fluminense , on Sunday (20). The teams face each other in the 15th round of the Brasileirão, at Maracanã.
