Recently, Flamengo was in advanced talks with Atalanta, from Italy, for the possible transfer of the right-back Wesley. However, in the final moments of negotiations, the Italian club chose to withdraw from the agreement, surprising the red and black board. In response to Atalanta's decision, Flamengo's football director, Bruno Spindel, made a point of sending a clear and firm message to the European team.
During the CBF draw, Spindel did not mince words when expressing the Flamengo's position in the situation. "Flamengo is not an amateur club. No Flamengo player will leave without a signed contract. We are a big Brazilian club, with international standards. If they think we are joking, they are mistaken. No Flamengo player leaves without an approved and signed contract by all parties", declared the manager, demonstrating the seriousness with which Flamengo treats its transactions.
CONFIDENCE IN WESLEY'S POTENTIAL
In addition to regretting Atalanta's withdrawal, Spindel highlighted the confidence that Flamengobanks on Wesley, highlighting his promising future at the club and in the Brazilian team. "We really believe in Wesley's potential. He has helped us and will continue to help us. We believe that in the future he will be part of the Brazilian team and will contribute a lot to Flamengo", he stated.
REASONS FOR WITHDRAWAL AND CONTRACT RENEWAL
The director also explained that Flamengo was informally informed by Atalanta about the withdrawal from hiring Wesley, mentioning a possible disagreement in regarding the final date for signing the contract. "On Tuesday morning, Flamengo agreed to the date of the 23rd, as requested. However, in the afternoon, we were informed of the withdrawal. We believe that perhaps they have found another player who interests them more than Wesley."
After the unexpected outcome, Flamengo renewed Wesley's contract until the end of 2028. The 20-year-old full-back's termination fine was raised to 200 million euros (around R$1.1 billion), reinforcing the player's importance to the club's future even more.

Maracanã will be the stage for the duel between Flamengo and Barcelona (ESP), this Saturday (23), for the final of the U-20 Club World Cup. So far, 23,055 tickets have been sold, a number considered good for a game in this category , but below the expectations of the red-black fans.
According to journalist Venê Casagrande , the initial available number is 37,844 tickets. If sold out, new tickets will be released. Demand is expected to increase from Thursday (21) , with the expectation of a large crowd at the stadium to support the Garotos do Ninho , who are seeking their second intercontinental championship — the club beat Olympiacos (GRE) in the last decision.
Tickets are still open to the general public and will be available until the match, subject to availability. Tickets can be purchased through the official website : ingressos.flamengo.com.br .
Mengão has reached the highest partnership agreement with the bookmaker in Brazil and is now on par with the biggest teams in world football.

Flamengo announced this Monday (18) Betano as its new master sponsor . The contract, valid for three years, is the largest ever signed by a Brazilian club and places the Rubro-Negro among the ten highest paid in the world . The agreement provides for around R$268 million per season for the brand's exposure on the uniform.
The amount is more than double the previous contract with Pixbet, which generated R$115 million annually. With this, Flamengo further widens the gap with its rivals in the national scenario : the second-largest master sponsorship in Brazil, Corinthians' with Esporte da Sorte, is worth R$103 million, or R$165 million less than Flamengo's.
The red-black contract exceeds, for example, that of Ajax (HOL) with Ziggo, which pays only €8 million (around R$51 million).
The deal with Betano also includes performance targets that could boost the club's profits . The deal reinforces Flamengo's status as a leading brand in South American football and demonstrates the commercial growth potential of clubs in the region.
Atalanta's Mengão product is in their sights to reinforce their attacking command and the Cottagers already have a replacement in place in case of his departure.

Rodrigo Muniz's goalscoring form in England is starting to stir up activity in the European market . The former Flamengo player has become Atalanta's target, and a potential transfer has Fulham looking for replacements. Their main target is Rasmus Hojlund, currently on the decline at Manchester United .
According to The Independent, the Dane lost his place after the arrival of coach Rúben Amorim and saw competition increase with the signing of Benjamin Sesko , bought for around €80 million. Signed from Atalanta for £72 million, Hojlund didn't perform as expected: he scored just 14 goals in 62 Premier League games. United are now reportedly willing to sell him for £40 million.
Atalanta could offer a similar amount for Muniz. The Flamengo -born striker has had two consistent seasons at Fulham, scoring 17 Premier League goals . Last Saturday (16), he was decisive when he scored in stoppage time against Brighton, securing a draw in the season opener.
If the sale goes through, Fulham will have the cash to invest heavily in a new number 9 , and Hojlund emerges as the main option. For United, the deal would represent a chance to reduce the financial losses associated with the player.
The next few days of the transfer window promise to be decisive for Fulham, Atalanta, Manchester United, and for Rodrigo Muniz, who could begin a new chapter in his career in Serie A. While negotiations are still pending, the youngster is preparing for the second round of the Premier League, when the Cottagers face Manchester United.
