Flamengo wants to play at Maracanã against Red Bull Bragantino on October 28th, the Sunday immediately before the Libertadores final, which will be held at the stadium. However, Conmebol requested the government of the state of Rio de Janeiro to stop the stadium for fourteen days, that is, right after the Flamengo x Vasco classic. President Rodolfo Landim stated that he "will not give up" playing at the stadium. The CBF defends the red-black position in this case.
The case took an unexpected turn last Thursday (yesterday). In this sense, even changing the location of the final was considered by the highest entity in South American football. Among other points, there is also an alleged request for extra boxes and tickets in the final on behalf of Flamengo's president, Rodolfo Landim. However, he made a point of denying this information.
“Of course not. Apart from the seats that are reserved at the TPU for State service, captive seats and part of the boxes (these have all the income obtained from their sale throughout the year destined to help support Maracanã's expenses), all other tickets are sold by Conmebol.”
Conmebol will have the right to all the boxes on the 3rd floor on the West side, but the Maracanã consortium, which has Flamengo as its main beneficiary under contract, negotiates those on the East side and those on the 2nd floor. Prices are around R$1,500 per seat - there are 20 seats per box. Which means that a box can cost R$150,000. But neither sales have started nor the values have been disclosed.

Last Wednesday (18), representatives from Flamengo and Caixa Econômica Federal held another meeting to resolve the impasse surrounding the Gasologista land, acquired by the club in July. The meeting had the support of Rio de Janeiro City Hall and the Attorney General's Office (AGU), and a new meeting scheduled for next week, in Brasília, could seal the definitive agreement. The information was released by journalist Diogo Dantas, from the newspaper "O Globo".
Mengão's board of directors, represented by president Rodolfo Landim, vice-general Rodrigo Dunshee, CEO Reinaldo Belotti and vice-president of equity Marcos Bodin, was optimistic about the possibility of a solution soon. Caixa questions the amount paid by the club at the land auction, but everything indicates that an additional amount could resolve the legal conflict by next month.
The meeting was also attended by deputy Pedro Paulo and the club's director of external relations, Cacau Cotta, who have acted as intermediaries between the club and the mayor from Rio, Eduardo Paes. In August, a meeting involving the bank's president, Carlos Vieira, president Lula and mayor Eduardo Paes had already signaled the path to an agreement.

This Thursday (19), Flamengo hosts Peñarol (URU) at Maracanã, at 7pm (Brasília time), in a match valid for the quarter-finals of the Copa Libertadores da América. In search of a good advantage for the second leg, coach Tite will have to deal with several important absences in the red and black squad.
