The Federal Police investigation into Bruno Henrique, Flamengo's striker , has been concluded with the request for indictment for gambling fraud. Now, the case will be developed both in the STJD (with sports punishment) and in the ordinary courts (with criminal punishment)
According to information from the UOL portal, the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Federal District is already working informally on a complaint in the Bruno Henrique case. The tendency is that he will be framed under article 200 of the General Sports Law, as indicated by the PF.
The article describes the punishment for defrauding by any means or contributing to fraud in the outcome of a sports competition . The penalty provided is imprisonment of two to six years.
Officially, the MP says it needs to be intimidated about the PF report, which has not yet happened.
"When this occurs, the document will be rigorously analyzed and from there new procedural steps will be defined, which may include, for example, the determination of new diligences", informed the body.
The STJD , in turn, has already requested that the Court share information from the investigation into Bruno Henrique. This had already been requested by the PF itself. The decision depends on Judge Fernando Barbagalo, who is responsible for the investigation, but it is common practice for this type of procedure to be approved.
From then on, the STJD prosecutor's office will have to open a new investigation into Bruno Henrique for violating article 243 of the sports code. The court had already closed the previous procedure due to lack of economic advantage.
When the prosecution files the complaint, which is likely, the presidency of the STJD may apply a preventive suspension of 30 days. This occurred in the case of the 12 players involved in the match-fixing case analyzed in Operation Maximum Penalty.
The match valid for the 23rd round of the Brazilian Championship will be played at Alfredo Jaconi, in Caxias do Sul, with exclusive streaming broadcast.
