Rio - The family of singer MC Marcinho, who died in August 2023, was at the Rio City Council this Monday (17) to receive the main honor given by the House to those who stand out in society, the Medal of Merit Pedro Ernesto, for all his contribution to culture.
Marcio André Nepomuceno Garcia died at the age of 45, on August 26, 2023, at Copa D'Or Hospital, in Copacabana, in the Zona South of Rio, due to multiple organ failure.
He had heart disease and chronic kidney disease, the singer had been hospitalized since June 27th and suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest on July 11th. The funk player was diagnosed with a generalized infection and his health condition has worsened since last Monday.
The artist had undergone surgery to implant an artificial heart and was waiting for a real organ transplant, but was removed from the queue as he was unable to undergo the procedure.

Sheherazade's statement came shortly after an episode in which she would have mocked her former broadcaster, SBT, where she worked for several years. The gaffe happened precisely on the day of Matheus Ceará's debut in the Sunday magazine, a fact that also generated comments among the public.

Domingo Legal, once again, surpassed Domingo Record with a significant difference. According to the numbers released, Celso Portiolli's program reached the mark of 6 audience points, while Sheherazade's program had an average of around 3.4 points.
The main agenda of the Record edition was the press conference by comedian Matheus Ceará, who visited the new headquarters of the reality show A Fazenda 2024 and revealed some of the cast, but still failed to attract the necessary attention to beat the competition.

The singer, who took to the stage with Planet Hemp last Sunday ( 15/9) and will return to the festival on Saturday (21/9) with a rap project, stated that the excessive appreciation of luxury and success in music of the genre can be a "trap" for young artists.
< Marcelo D2 was emphatic in his opinion about the recurring theme in trap: "I think it's all shit. This movement nowadays among younger kids, I think there's something that bothers me a little in this new generation, which is ostentation , I think it's a f*cked up trap." The musician warned that the reality of most favelas is still far from what is portrayed in the lyrics, emphasizing that "the favela has not won, it is still starving, without basic sanitation, without health."The first day of Rock in Rio this year was dominated by trap, with performances by Brazilian artists such as Orochi, Oruam and Chefin, as well as American rapper Travis Scott. Trap has been gaining more and more space on streaming platforms, often highlighting themes related to luxury and success. However, for Marcelo D2, as long as favelas continue to face challenges such as lack of infrastructure and essential services, the victory speech will be superficial.
D2 also mentioned rapper Emicida as an example of a more collective and less individualistic vision. Jojo Todynho covered all the costs of hospitalization for MC Marcinho's daughter, Marcelly, after the young woman got involved with drugs and needed to go to a rehabilitation clinic. The funk singer's ex-wife, Kelly, appeared on social media last Thursday (11), to thank the singer for her attitude and end the fundraising she had created to gather donations to pay for her daughter's treatment. /p>
"To Jojo, a great family friend , helped pay for Marcelly’s entire treatment. I'm going to suspend the crowdfunding now, because it was our only objective. I want to thank everyone, you can stop tagging people [in the comments]", he said, amid tears in a video published on his Instagram profile.
"Tomorrow morning we will be taking Marcelly, because We need to gather all the material she will need, the clothes, the things... I really want to thank God for Jojo's life and for your lives, which started to make an impact on people", she said emotionally.
"I would like to thank Jojo immensely for the heart she has, for being who she is, independent... She has already done a lot for my family, she has done a lot for my daughter. She is not a person who is arriving now, taking advantage of the situation. She has always been with us since Márcio's time, asking if we needed help, food, money", he said.
"She didn't ask me to come here and say it was her, but I have to say it was her. Thank you, I know you keep my daughter in prayer, our family in prayer. And, if you can, thank her in person", he reinforced. "I don't think I'll ever have enough words to thank Jojo for being ready as soon as she saw it, she called me on What's App."
