Coach Filipe Luís received a special guest at Ninho do Urubu this Friday (29). Former midfielder Obi Mikel, his former Chelsea (ING) teammate , took a tour of Flamengo's facilities and praised the warm welcome at the red-black CT.

"I came to see my friend Filipe Luís again; I played with him at Chelsea. He invited me, and I'm very grateful . Everyone here has been very kind, and so has the team. Since I arrived, everyone has been incredible," Mikel said in an interview with Flamengo TV.
During the visit, the Nigerian revealed his desire to attend a Flamengo game at Maracanã: "I've never been to a stadium in Brazil before, but I'd love to go because the fans here bring so much emotion. At the World Cup, Flamengo fans were very loud . For me, it would be incredible to be in the stadium and experience that atmosphere. I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be a great game, and I hope Flamengo wins," the former midfielder stated.
Mikel's mention of the Club World Cup recalls the historic clash between Flamengo and Chelsea, still in the first phase of the competition. On that occasion, the English team took the lead through Pedro Neto, but the Red-Blacks fought back and came back with goals from Bruno Henrique, Danilo, and Wallace Yan , sealing the victory 3-1 in the United States.
For this Sunday's match, Filipe Luís will have most of his squad available. The only confirmed absences are Alex Sandro , recovering from a left calf injury, and Erick Pulgar, who underwent surgery on his right foot.
Now in Rio de Janeiro, Mikel can fulfill this wish this Sunday (31), when Rubro-Negro faces Grêmio, in the 22nd round of the Brasileirão. The Brasileirão match will be broadcast on Rede Globo (open TV) and Premiere (pay-per-view).

Flamengo's entry onto the field this Sunday (31), against Grêmio, for the 22nd round of the Brazilian Championship, was marked by a big party at Maracanã. The celebration was highlighted by the official debut of Betano as the team's master sponsor , with special actions in the stands.
In the North and South sectors, 3D mosaics displaying the red-black and white uniforms took shape , while 40,000 inflatable balloons with the jersey designs were distributed to fans. Personalized crests were also part of the celebration, reinforcing the brand's debut atmosphere.
During halftime, Betano prepared a special show featuring artists associated with the red-and-black universe, such as Alexandre Pires and Bruno from Sorriso Maroto . The contract between the parties runs until the end of 2028 and is expected to generate approximately R$900 million in revenue for the club.
In addition to being featured in the most prestigious space on the main uniform , the brand will also be present on training uniforms, on the Mengão Team (Olympic sports) and on the women's volleyball team (Sesc).
Another highlight of the match was the return of Torcida Jovem, one of the club's main supporters groups. To celebrate the occasion, a special mosaic was created in the East section with the phrase "We are Flamengo," highlighting the power of the stands in the celebration.

Flamengo returns to the field this Sunday (31) to face Grêmio , in a match valid for the 22nd round of the Brazilian Championship. The duel takes place at Maracanã, at 4 pm (Brasília time), and marks another challenge for the team led by Filipe Luís, who leads the competition with 46 points.
For the match, the coach confirmed the entry of De La Cruz in midfield, filling in for the injured Jorginho. Flamengo will therefore field the following players: Rossi; Varela, Léo Ortiz, Léo Pereira, and Ayrton Lucas; De La Cruz, Saúl, and Arrascaeta; Gonzalo Plata, Samuel Lino, and Pedro.
Mengão will be without three players. Erick Pulgar is still recovering from foot surgery, while Alex Sandro is nursing a calf injury. Jorginho is in the medical department due to pain in the hamstring of his left thigh.
