During ESPN's Equipe F program, commentators Zinho and Zé Elias analyzed Pedro's situation at Flamengo and argued that the number 9 should receive more opportunities as a starter under Filipe Luís. With the return of the Brazilian Championship and the Libertadores, both understand that the center forward could be an important player for the rest of the season .

Zinho raised questions about Pedro 's absence from the match against Bayern Munich, when the striker did not even leave the bench . Initially, the former player attributed the decision to a possible physical reconditioning process, but later expressed surprise at the coaching staff's choice.
“I understood that it was physical reconditioning and a plan to give him a few minutes until he reached his ideal form. However, Pedro wasn’t the first option to enter the game . Even Wallace Yan came in first,” Zinho pointed out.
The commentator also compared the number 9's situation with that of Gonzalo Plata , who was called up despite also returning from injury: “ Pedro had more recovery time than Plata . That's where my doubt comes in. I think Filipe opted for greater mobility on the field”, he analyzed.
Zinho took the opportunity to make a direct appeal to the coach: “ At this time of the Brazilian Championship and the Libertadores, this is Pedro's time . Filipe Luís, give Pedro a chance”, concluded the former Mengão player. Flamengo is the leader of the championship and is in the round of 16 of the knockout stage.
Zé Elias agreed with his bench colleague and added that the club needs to be patient with the player. For him, the solution involves an alignment between coach and athlete: “I think Filipe must have already explained to Pedro what he needs to improve: be more intense in marking and repositioning . There are reasons for him to be on the bench, but these reasons can be worked on”, he assessed.
In recent days, there has been speculation about a possible departure for Pedro, but Flamengo has denied any intention of negotiating him . Despite being dissatisfied with his time on the field, the striker remains focused on the club and has already expressed interest in renewing his contract.

Despite the 1-1 draw between Flamengo and Grêmio at the Maracanã in the 22nd round of the Brasileirão, Samuel Lino had a special reason to celebrate. The striker was called up to the Brazilian national team for the first time , following the injury of Manchester United's Matheus Cunha.
" When I got the news, I was very happy. I was surprised, because I wasn't expecting it. I want to make the most of it; I'm expecting it to be a great time, and I'll learn a lot, " the player declared after the match.
Samuel Lino 's call-up was due to Matheus Cunha's injury, which meant he would miss the next few matches. Coach Carlo Ancelotti decided to opt for the Mais Querido forward , who will have a chance to play for the national team in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Bolivia.
On the field, the match ended in a draw. The Rio de Janeiro team's goal was scored by Arrascaeta, following an assist from Pedro . The Rio Grande do Sul team equalized late on with a penalty kick converted by goalkeeper Thiago Volpi after a deflected ball hit Ayrton Lucas's arm.

Following the 1-1 draw with Grêmio in the 22nd round of the Brazilian Championship , football director José Boto responded to questions about potential reinforcements for the Mais Querido. According to the director, the club is satisfied with the squad assembled so far and is unlikely to make any further moves in the transfer market.
" The window is still open, until the 2nd. We don't have any plans to bring anyone else, but you never know because the market is volatile; an opportunity, a good deal, might arise. But, in principle, it's closed. I don't even think we have... in Portugal we say that too much water kills the plant, and I think we have enough water," declared José Boto at the Maracanã.
