During an interview with the French newspaper L'Équipe, published this Tuesday (8), former player Ronaldinho Gaúch commented on prominent names in current football such as Neymar, Lionel Messi, Lamine Yamal and Ousmane Dembélé. The conversation took place amid the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of his winning the Ballon d'Or, an award received in 2005, when he played for Barcelona.
Paris Saint-Germain idol Ronaldinho assessed that Neymar had a remarkable stint at the French club, but that injuries hampered his performance on the field. Regarding Messi, the Brazilian considered his stint to be shorter, but still significant. “ Ney wrote a great story , but he was unlucky with injuries. Messi spent less time here, but both left their mark. Messi won the Ballon d’Or here,” he declared.
Surprisingly when asked who reminded him most on the field, Ronaldinho singled out French striker Ousmane Dembélé . “He has a somewhat Brazilian style. He pretends, invents, provokes. He is often unreadable and, on top of that, he scores a lot of goals. He is standing out and taking on a different role,” said the star, who praised the player’s irreverence and unpredictability.
Ronaldinho also took advantage of the interview to talk about the young winger Lamine Yamal, a star at Barcelona, the club where he was also an idol. The Brazilian showed enthusiasm for the player's precocious talent. " I love watching him play because of his inventiveness . He will be a great player, for sure," said the former midfielder, reinforcing the importance of maintaining constant development.
Another highlight of the interview was the affection shown for Kylian Mbappé, who recently moved to Spanish football. Ronaldinho revealed that the two have a close relationship. “He is a great friend. I am happy that he is in Spain now . He is at a historic club that should allow him to flourish and achieve the important things that he is still seeking,” declared the former player.
The Mengão product is one of the highlights of the youth teams and emerged last year as a promising player, but he is close to leaving the club.

The U-20 Club World Cup title , won last Saturday (23) against Barcelona (ESP), put Flamengo's young players in the spotlight on the international stage. One of the protagonists was Lorran, number 11 of the team, who scored a goal in the final and, soon after, had his future defined: the striker was loaned to Pisa (ITA) .
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the agreement provides for a payment of 500 thousand euros (a little over R$ 3 million) to Flamengo for the loan , in addition to a purchase clause set at 4 million euros (around R$ 25.2 million). Rubro-Negro , however, kept 50% of the player's economic rights, aiming for a return in case of future appreciation.
Newly promoted to the Italian top flight after 34 years, Pisa is seeking reinforcements to avoid immediate relegation . The club had already attempted to sign Lorran in July, offering a loan with an obligation to buy. Negotiations, however, failed at that time.
In the 2025 season, Lorran has been alternating between the U-20 team and the senior squad. With no room for Filipe Luís, the striker played in the World Youth Championship final and opened the scoring in the final against Barcelona . After a 2-2 draw in regulation time, Flamengo won on penalties and secured the title.
The youngster nearly left the club on two other occasions this year: first, there were advanced negotiations with CSKA Moscow (RUS), which ultimately fell through. Then, Fortaleza attempted to loan him out, but the club chose to hold on to him.
The Mengão product and the French star shone in the match between the meringues and Real Oviedo, but the local fans attacked the players

During Real Madrid's 3-0 victory over Real Oviedo this Sunday (24), at the Carlos Tartiere Stadium, Flamengo's young player, Vini Jr, and Kylian Mbappé were targets of racist attacks from the stands . The images, shown by the Spanish program El Día Después, from Movistar, recorded screams with monkey sounds at two different moments of the match.
The first incident occurred shortly after Mbappé 's goal, when the Frenchman celebrated by kneeling on the pitch. Although it wasn't a collective chant, the insults were clearly captured by the match's broadcast cameras .
In the second half, when he came on to replace Rodrygo, Vini Jr. was also the target of racist chants and insults from a significant segment of the home crowd . The hostility escalated throughout the match, to the point where the Brazilian argued with some fans.
On the field, Real Madrid had no trouble defeating Oviedo with authority. Mbappé opened the scoring in the 37th minute of the first half. In the second half, Vini Jr., a Flamengo talent, shone, contributing to the next two goals .
The number 7 made a great play and assisted the Frenchman to extend the lead. In stoppage time, in the 48th minute of the second half, Brahim Díaz led a counterattack on the right, reversed the play, and found Vini Jr. The striker charged at the defense, burst into the box, and finished with class , scoring a stunning goal that sealed the 3-0 victory.
Mengão did not agree with the entity's decision to change the dates of the Brasileirão where it lost free weeks of training

Flamengo released an official statement on Monday (25) criticizing the CBF's decision to bring forward the end of the Brazilian Championship to December 7 and push back the dates of the Copa do Brasil. According to the red-black board, the change harms the season's planning and puts the athletes' health at risk .
The club stated that it had been consulted previously and had expressed its opposition to the change . Even so, the organization unilaterally confirmed the change, which generated strong dissatisfaction among the club's directors. Flamengo believes the decision violates the competition's equality, as it favors teams that do not compete in the Libertadores.
Flamengo on changes to the CBF calendar: "Such a scenario compromises the season's sports planning and, above all, the health of athletes"
In the note, the club highlighted:
"The decision, which brings forward rounds and shortens the competition period, imposes on Flamengo a heavier schedule of games and long trips in reduced intervals, in some cases even violating the minimum 66-hour period between matches —especially after the South American World Cup Qualifiers. This scenario compromises the season's sports planning and, above all, the health of the athletes."
With the change in the calendar, Flamengo loses free weeks it would have had during the simultaneous Libertadores and Brasileirão competitions . Outside of the Copa do Brasil, the team could have used the period to train, recover players, and fine-tune the squad. Now, it will once again have an intense sequence of games, which could directly impact its title race.
After the impressive 8-0 win over Vitória, Flamengo is now preparing for Sunday's game (31), when they host Grêmio at Maracanã for the 22nd round of the Brasileirão . Mengão is the isolated leader of the championship with 46 points, four ahead of Palmeiras, in second place in the table.
