The football player Júnior Baiano, former Brazilian and Flamengo national team, was rescued after suffering a sudden illness during a match on Saturday night, 13th. The incident occurred in the city of Girau do Ponciano, in the countryside of Alagoas, causing concern among those present.

Júnior Baiano, 54 years old, is from Feira de Santana, in Bahia. He played in 25 matches for the Brazilian Football Team between 1997 and 1998, and was selected for the 1998 World Cup. In addition to Flamengo, he played for clubs such as Palmeiras, São Paulo and Vasco da Gama, marking his career in Brazilian football. .



The former player participated in a football match for the Brazilian Master Team, in a festive event promoted by the city hall. The event, which brought together former football stars, was interrupted due to the sudden illness suffered by Júnior Baiano.



20 minutes into the match, Júnior Baiano fell ill. A team from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) was called and carried out the first procedures. According to Samu's press office, Baiano received cardiopulmonary resuscitation and was taken to the Agreste Emergency Hospital (HEA), in Arapiraca.


To date, his condition health policy was not informed to the press, leaving fans and colleagues waiting for good news.

Flamengo faces Peñarol next Thursday, in the return of the Libertadores quarter-finals. Júnior Baiano, former Flamengo defender, was medically discharged after being admitted with a suspected heart attack to a hospital in Arapiraca-AL. The former player fell ill during a festive match last Saturday night (13), in Girau do Ponciano.

This last Monday (13), Júnior Baiano used his social networks to inform his fans and followers about his state of health: “Already at home. Go firmly towards your goal, because thought creates, desire attracts and faith achieves”. Júnior would have suffered an early heart attack, which should only be confirmed after tests, according to information from the Todo Segundo portal.
