Domenec Torrent is in the negotiation process with Athletico-PR and a new step should be taken today (19). The former Flamengo commander is expected to give a positive response to Furacão so that he can start training the team at the beginning of the year, according to journalist Raísa Simplício, from the GOAL portal.
The club from Paraná has been looking for a new coach since the dismissal of Paulo Turra, which happened in the middle of the year. His attention is now focused on Torrent, known for his time in Brazilian football at the helm of Flamengo. At Mais Querido, he had ups and downs
If the negotiation is completed successfully, the expectation is that Domènec will bring his experience and knowledge with him, contributing to strengthening the Paraná team at least until the end of next season, which is until when the club is willing to agree with the coach.
Athletico sees in the Spanish coach the opportunity to build a solid and competitive base to face the challenges that lie ahead and, apparently, the interest is mutual. The negotiations, conducted discreetly, are now moving towards the final phase, where contractual details are being discussed.
It is worth noting that, to date, none of those involved have officially commented on the negotiations.
Domenèc Torrent may be returning to Brazilian football, after almost four years away. Torrent spent some time in Turkey after leaving Fla, but has been without a club for months.
It is worth remembering that Domenèc was responsible for taking over the team in 2020, after Jorge Jesus resigned to return to work at Benfica. He was announced by Fla on July 30th, with a contract until the end of 2021. However, he ended up only staying for around four months, when he was fired at the beginning of November.
Expectations The public, in general, has always been very positive about the coach, given his impressive CV. He had many years of partnership with fellow Catalan coach Pep Guardiola and had successful experiences alongside the renowned coach. However, the recurrent defeats suffered and the poor coexistence with part of the Flamengo squad undermined the commander's work at Mais Querido.
He left Mengão with a performance of 63.8%, which, to put it mildly, in comparison, it is slightly worse than the performance that Jorge Sampaoli had in charge of the team (64.4 performance).

The Sinergia Rubro-Negra Group (SRN), made up of influential partners from Flamengo, held a meeting last Saturday (7), at the club's headquarters, located in Gávea. The main objective of the meeting was to promote fraternization among the participants, but, inevitably, club politics ended up dominating the discussions throughout the event.
The main topic that emerged during the meeting was the support of the SRN to Rodrigo Dunshee's candidacy for president of Flamengo. Dunshee, who currently holds the position of general and legal vice-president of the club, is a prominent figure in the red-black political scene. The group, made up of members who share an aligned vision regarding the club's management, sees in Dunshee a name prepared to take over Flamengo's leadership, especially considering the upcoming electoral cycle.
During the event, members of the SRN highlighted Dunshee's role in the current administration, remembering that he was a fundamental player in several legal achievements of the Flamengo in recent years. The group believes that his experience and proximity to the club's internal processes make him the ideal candidate to succeed current president Rodolfo Landim, whose tenure ends at the end of his term.
Although the initial objective of the meeting was a celebration between the partners, it was inevitable that the conversations turned to Flamengo's political future. The club's presidential elections are approaching, and political groups are already beginning to articulate support and strategies. The SRN, being a strong group within the red-black political structure, has stood out for its organization and capacity to mobilize members.
Those present discussed, among other topics, the possible implications of a possible Dunshee's candidacy. His name has been circulating among members for some time, but now, with the explicit support of the SRN, his candidacy is gaining strength. The members highlighted that Dunshee is a name of continuity, someone who is already part of the current management and deeply knows the challenges and needs of the club. This, in the group's view, represents a positive point, as Dunshee could continue the projects started under the Landim administration.

Flamengo continues to debate whether to look for a replacement for Pedro, a striker who is recovering from an injury. The decision is complex, involving several variables ranging from the financial cost to the availability of players on the market. One of the main points under discussion is the high cost of a possible replacement. Flamengo, looking for reinforcements at right-back after Wesley's imminent departure to Italian football, turns his attention to Khellven, a player who currently plays for CSKA, from Russia. The athlete, who previously played for Athletico-PR, has been standing out in transfer market speculation and could be the Rio club's next target.
CSKA established a considerable amount for the player's release, stipulating it at 7 million euros, approximately R$41 million, according to the current price. This amount is significantly higher than the 4.5 million euros (around R$23.7 million) paid by the Russian club to Athletico-PR in August last year, almost double the original amount. The information was released by journalist Venê Casagrande.
Currently, Flamengo evaluates aspects such as Khellven's salary and his interest in returning to Brazil, but has not yet made a formal proposal to CSKA. This season, the 23-year-old player played 38 matches, starting 30 of them, with a balance of one goal scored and six assists.
Khellven, who was part of the Brazilian team in the Pre-Olympic alongside Endrick, from Real Madrid, has 175 games for Athletico-PR, with eight goals and 22 assists. At Furacão, he won the Copa Sudamericana and the Copa do Brasil, consolidating his career in Brazilian football before his transfer to Europe.
