Exclusive: Filipe Luís's renewal with Flamengo is close to being made official

Midfielder Éverton Ribeiro, currently at Bahia , revealed this Monday (6) that he underwent surgery to treat thyroid cancer. The 36-year-old player shared the news on his social media, informing that the procedure was successful and that he will now continue the recovery process.

The diagnosis was made about a month ago. Even after learning of the disease, the athlete remained active and played eight matches for Tricolor de Aço , including the final of the Copa do Nordeste, the second leg of the quarterfinals of the Copa do Brasil and six rounds of the Brazilian Championship.
