O Flamengo drew 1-1 with Internacional on Wednesday night, in a game played at the Beira stadium -Rio, in Porto Alegre. Mengão even took the lead on the scoreboard, but ended up allowing a draw at the end of the match. According to him, the game was marked by an intense rhythm, and he preferred to keep the starting athletes, believing that the changes might not have the same desired impact on the dynamics of the match.
- My choice to make few changes was because I saw that it was a very physical game, extremely difficult to get into. I chose to leave the players who were on the field. About them ending up tired, they always give everything and that's why they always end up tired. In every game they end up exhausted because they give everything for the club and the group. It was my decision because I believed that with the changes I could lower my level a little because, as I said, it was a very difficult game to enter from the bench.
FLAMENGO IN THE G4 AND FOCUS ON THE BRAZILIAN CUP FINAL
With the result, the Mais Querido completed 31 games in Série A, equaling the number of matches with the other G4 clubs. The Rio team remains in fourth place, now with 54 points, while the difference with leader Botafogo is 9 points.
After the confrontation in the south of the country, Flamengo now focuses its attention on the final of the Copa do Brasil, a competition that has become a priority for the club. The first game of the decision will be next Sunday (3), against Atlético-MG, at Maracanã, at 4pm.

On his 40th birthday, Filipe Luís celebrated with a victory. Léo Pereira and Gonzalo Plata scored for Flamengo , while Gabriel, a former player for the club between 2013 and 2017, scored for Mirassol, applying the "ex-law" at Maracanã.
With the victory, Flamengo moved into first place at the top of the Brazilian Championship, reaching 40 points. Second-place Cruzeiro has 37, leaving Flamengo three points ahead .
