Filipe Luís' debut as coach of Flamengo brought hope of a good end to the year, after the turbulent phase with Tite. The players demonstrated greater intensityon the field, and journalists such as José Trajano and Eduardo Tironi pointed out a clear change in the team's atmosphere.

Trajano, for example, used an interesting analogy to describe the difference in mood in the team: he compared Filipe Luís to a "school teacher" cursinho", which tends to be closer and dearer to the students, while Tite would be a "boring director". This change in attitude impacted not only the team on the field, but also the fans at Maracanã.

“No Flamengo, what happened was a change of stance. Better than the performance on the field, it cannot be denied that the first half was great, but that is not the result of one or two training sessions. But it's that thing, I brought the prep school teacher, who everyone knew, dear. And that grim-faced director came out, who speaks outdated verbiage. This environment that conquers the stands has changed”, began Trajano, on ‘Posse de Bola’, on UOL.

The behavior of the fans was very highlighted. After a victory by the same score of 1-0 against Athletico-PR, with football below expectations, Tite left Maracanã booed. The situation was completely different with Filipe Luís: the fans supported the team throughout the game against Corinthians and left the stadium with the expectation that Flamengo will return to playing the expected football.

“What we saw at Maracanã was happy, joyful people. They got rid of that guy who doesn't fit in with Flamengo. (…) At this moment, I believe that Filipe Luís is telling his story at Flamengo. It was a necessary, important and joyful change for Flamengo to get on track”, he added.

Presenter Eduardo Tironi joined the conversation and agreed with the opinion: “It seems to me that it was an opaque team and turned into a completely different environment. I think this is very clear.” Flamengo's next challenge with Filipe Luís in charge will be against Bahia, this Saturday (5), at 7pm, for the 29th round of the Brasileirão.

Arnaldo Ribeiro on Tite's impact on the market

While Flamengo sees growth, Tite faces the opposite situation, according to journalists. Trajano believes that his time at Flamengo marks the "end of an era" for the coach. Arnaldo Ribeiro assesses that, previously considered the best Brazilian coach in activity, Tite would now be on the same level as other names of his generation.

“A year's work on the best squad in Brazil after two World Cups. It's been eight years in which no progress has been noticed. His work at Flamengo was poor. And, thinking about the future of his career, I no longer see him among the main names in the Brazilian market, which is scarce. There was this generation, Mano, Tite, etc. I don't see any difference between Tite and these guys. Except for elaborate vocabulary, 150 guys on the committee”, said Arnaldo.
