Filipe Luís talks about Flamengo's strategy to face Vasco

Maracanã will host another chapter of the traditional Clássico dos Milhões this Sunday (21), at 5:30 pm (Brasília time). Isolated leader of the Brazilian Championship with 50 points, Flamengo arrives motivated by ten unbeaten games and recent victories over Juventude, away from home, and Estudiantes, in the quarterfinals of the Libertadores.

Coach Filipe Luís has already defined the starting team that will face Vasco, betting on maximum strength to consolidate the lead and maintain the momentum before the decisive clash in Argentina, scheduled for Thursday (25).

ABSENCES AND SHORTAGES

Chilean midfielder Erick Pulgar remains out of this Sunday's derby, still recovering from surgery on the fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot. He is already undergoing physical therapy on the field , but has not been cleared to play. Another player missing is Jorginho, who has been rested by the medical department for the second leg of the Copa Libertadores against Estudiantes.

As of Friday (19), more than 50,000 tickets had been sold for the Clássico dos Milhões . The North sectors (for Flamengo fans) and East and West (for mixed fans) are sold out, with only tickets remaining for the South sector, exclusive to Vasco fans.

Flamengo and Vasco face each other this Sunday (21), at 5:30 pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã Stadium, in a match valid for the 24th round of the Brazilian Championship. The classic, known as Clássico dos Milhões, should have a full house and great expectations from the red-black fans.

Flamengo announced its squad list for the match with important changes. Full-back Alex Sandro, who has recovered from injury, is available to coach Filipe Luís. Meanwhile, midfielder Jorginho remains out, nursing a left thigh injury , an absence that directly impacts defensive balance and midfield play. Pulgar is also recovering from surgery.
