O Flamengo filed a complaint with the National Dispute Resolution Chamber (CNRD) to seek the collection of three late installments relating to the sale of Thiago Maia to Internacional. The action, however, does not include charging the full value of the contract, limited to amounts due and those that may expire during the legal process.
CONTRACT WITHOUT PROTECTION CLAUSE
One of the biggest criticisms of the agreement signed by the former management of CRF is the absence of a clause that would allow the early maturity of future installments in case of default. Without this provision, the club depends exclusively on payment according to the stipulated deadlines, even in the event of multiple installments being late.
COMPARISON WITH OTHER CLUBS
Other recent negotiations in Brazilian football show greater concern about default. An example is Cuiabá, which included such a clause in Raniel's sales contract to Corinthians. Thanks to this,the club can charge the full amount in case of non-payment, a mechanism that Flamengo chose not to adopt in the agreement with Internacional.
The sales contract of Thiago Maiawas paid in ten installments, with payment expected only in August 2027. This decision, in addition to compromising the club's long-term revenue forecast, , increases the risk of default by Colorado, leaving Flamengo in a vulnerable position.
Mengão's entry into the CNRD is limited to the collection of late and future installments that fall due until the dispute is resolved. Without the possibility of demanding full payment, the club will need to closely monitor compliance with the deadlines established in the contract, with no guarantee that the full amount will actually be received.

Officially presented this Monday with the number 15 shirt, Jorge Carrascal arrived at Flamengo with the mission of strengthening the creative sector, occupying a role in which Arrascaeta has been a reference since 2019. Although he has not yet debuted with the Manto Sagrado, the Colombian midfielder stated that playing for the Rio de Janeiro club represents an important milestone in his professional career.
"The truth is, I came to Flamengo with a purpose: to work, compete, and achieve the best for the club. The short-term goal is to play and earn matches. I'll work hard, focus on the clear objective, and the lineup will depend on the coach," the player declared.
During the interview, Carrascal made a point of praising the club's structure and the Mais Querido's representation in the South American scene. According to him, the decision to wear the red-and-black jersey was made with conviction.

"As everyone knows, Flamengo is a very big team. A South American team that means a lot. It's a dream for me to play in Brazil, so I believe I made the best decision for my career," added the athlete, who had been playing for Dynamo Moscow before the transfer.

Officially unveiled this Monday wearing the number 15 jersey, Jorge Carrascal arrived at the club with high expectations. Coming from Dynamo Moscow, the Colombian was considered a potential replacement for Arrascaeta , but he refuted the idea of a rivalry with the Uruguayan, a regular starter since 2019. In his first interview, Carrascal emphasized the importance of teamwork.
" It's not about competition, that I will be his replacement , that I will not be his replacement. I came to Flamengo with the purpose of working, of competing, of trying to achieve the best for the club, the clear objectives that it has in the short term this season," the player declared.
Besides rejecting any kind of competition for position, Carrascal praised his teammate's quality. " Arrascaeta has a unique game. He's a great player. We've known Arrascaeta for many years, based on his abilities. He's a different player," he stated.
Carrascal wants to show his versatility at Flamengo: "Position is not a problem"
Demonstrating commitment, the midfielder also highlighted his tactical versatility, showing a willingness to play in different areas of the field, depending on the coach's needs.
