O Flamengo concluded this Saturday morning (12) the fourth and final training session of the week at the Ninho Training Center do Urubu, in preparation for the challenges to come, including the classic against Fluminense, scheduled for next Thursday (17).The red-black team, which is at a crucial moment of the season, seeks adjusting the last details under the supervision of the technical committee, led by experienced left-back Filipe Luís, who has played a fundamental role in providing guidance during training. With total focus on the next commitments, Flamengo remains attentive to its physical form and tactics of its players, aiming for a solid performance in the important midweek clash.

The team's planning for this week featured with four intensive training sessions, always at CT Ninho do Urubu. The last of these training sessions, held this Saturday, had as main objective to improve the chemistry and precision of the plays, especially in relation to the defense, which has been a point of attention. Filipe Luís, who has taken a more active role in training since his recovery, will lead two more activities before the classic. Furthermore, the technical team has paid special attention to the physical recovery of the athletes, to ensure that everyone is in their best condition for the game against Fluminense.

FILIPE LUIS CAST TRAINS STRONG

Flamengo's squad will have a well-deserved rest on Sunday (13), when the players will have time off to recover after the sequence of intense activities. The break, even if brief, is essential for the athletes' muscle regeneration process and for them to return on Monday (14) with renewed energy. The reappearance on Monday marks the beginning of the last phase of preparation for the classic, with two decisive training sessions before the match. Filipe Luís will be responsible for guiding the athletes through these last adjustments, which could make the difference in the fight for a positive result in the match.

Expectations for the Fla-Flu classic are high, and Flamengo has been working hard to correct the errors presented in the last games. With full-back Filipe Luís taking a leadership stance during training, the team hopes to demonstrate an evolution in the defensive system and also improve the offensive transition, which will be crucial to beating the rival Tricolor. Furthermore, the team is aware of the need to adapt its strategies to Fluminense's style of play, which is also backed by good results. The presence of key players, who are in the final stages of preparation, will be decisive for Flamengo's success.

FLAMENGO HAS BALANCE POINT

Another highlight in the week's activities was the physical recovery work of the athletes who they came from a heavy sequence of games. The medical team and the technical committee have worked together to ensure that all players are ready for the classic. Filipe Luís, in addition to providing technical guidance, also has been an important voice in the locker room, encouraging players to maintain concentration and focus. The leadership of the full-back, who already has extensive experience in decisive games, has been a difference behind the scenes at the club, especially in such an important week for Rubro-Negro.

Flamengo will have a special ingredient in the duel this Thursday (18), at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã, for the quarterfinals of the Libertadores. Goalkeeper Agustín Rossi will meet Estudiantes again, the club where he played before arriving in Brazilian football .

Rossi on the duel between Flamengo and Estudiantes in the Libertadores: "The main thing is to keep ourselves mentally strong

At a press conference at Ninho do Urubu, the Argentine celebrated the team's recent progress and emphasized the importance of approaching each match with total focus . Mengão is the home team in the first leg and plays for its life away from home against the club from La Plata.

" We're coming off a big win in the South, in a place where Flamengo hadn't won in a long time . I always say the same thing: we take it one game at a time. Now, Thursday, is very important. Our home, our fans, a packed stadium, as we're used to. Then comes the derby on Sunday, but today we're only thinking about Thursday," he said.

TRUST IN MENTAL STRENGTH

For Rossi, the key to the match will be the red-and-black team's psychological preparation: "The main thing is to stay mentally strong, to prepare ourselves as best we can for this sequence. I know well what the Libertadores means to Estudiantes . And we know that there are no easy games in the competition, no matter where they are. On the field, we're 11 against 11, with tactical, technical, and physical determination. It will be a very competitive game, as it usually is in the Libertadores," he stated.

ADVANTAGE OF DECIDING AT MARACANÃ

The goalkeeper also emphasized the importance of opening the match at home against Nação: "We have the advantage of playing the first game at Maracanã. It's crucial to have a great performance to then seek qualification there . If we get a good result here, we have a good chance of reaching the semifinals. It'll be tough, but we're ready," he concluded.

Bahia's 2-1 defeat to Cruzeiro last Monday (15) represented not only the Celeste's turnaround at Fonte Nova, but also the end of a taboo. This is because the Bahian team was undefeated as home team in the Brasileirão. Now, only Flamengo and Mirassol remain unbeaten at home in this edition of the competition .

Bahia opened the scoring with a beautiful strike from Flamengo product Jean Lucas, but Cruzeiro responded with goals from Sinisterra and Gabigol. The result marked the Tricolor's first home defeat after a ten-game unbeaten run .

FLAMENGO DEFENDS ITS STRENGTH AT MARACANÃ

With Bahia's relegation, Flamengo now carries the exclusive title alongside Mirassol. The league leader, Flamengo, has played 12 home games, winning nine and drawing three . Their last loss at Maracanã came on July 31st, to Atlético-MG, in the Copa do Brasil. On that occasion, the Rio de Janeiro team was superior but was ultimately punished for a mistake in the clearance.

MIRASSOL SURPRISES

Mirassol , a major surprise in the 2025 Brasileirão, also remains undefeated at home. They've played 10 games, winning six and drawing four , demonstrating that the interior of São Paulo has become one of the most difficult places to earn points.
