Flamengo, always focused on developing new talents in its youth categories, announced the repatriation of Rafael Tenório, a striker who stood out as runner-up in the last Copa Rio U-15. At the age of 15, the player signed a training contract with Rubro-Negro, valid until 2027, after showing an impressive performance in the competition.
The Scout Department of Flamengo, in collaboration with other areas of the club, closely monitored Rafael Tenório's performance during the Copa Rio U-15. Tenório played for Resende, who finished fifth, behind only the four big clubs in Rio de Janeiro, with 18 points in 11 games. This performance caught the attention of Flamengo's scouts, who saw great potential in the young striker for the club's future.
A FORMER ACQUAINTANCE
Resende, the club for which Rafael played, had em Tenório his main offensive highlight. He scored 10 of the team's 22 goals in the competition, accounting for almost half of the team's goals. The young striker demonstrated excellent passing quality and precision in finishing, especially from medium and long distances. These skills were fundamental to their high performance in the tournament.
For comparison purposes, Flamengo's main scorers in the same competition were Emanuel, with six goals, and Luiz Guilherme, with five. This further highlights the ability of Rafael Tenório, who surpassed the numbers of Flamengo's own players. This superiority on the field meant that the Rio club did not hesitate in repatriating the striker to its youth teams.
Even with the title won over Barcelona at Maracanã two weeks ago, Mengão continues to 'clean up' the youth team

Flamengo's under-20 team won its second Club World Cup title in the category on August 23, defeating Barcelona (ESP) on penalties. Shortly after the title, the board began a comprehensive overhaul of the youth squad , which has already resulted in the departure of more than 20 players.
According to information from YouTuber Flazoeiro in partnership with Flabase, 23 players have left the club in recent months . Because part of the negotiations involves buyout clauses, Flamengo could earn more than R$100 million if the teams choose to keep the players.
The most prominent names among those who said goodbye were Lorran and Matheus Gonçalves, considered great promises from the red-black youth teams and who ended up playing in the main team led by Filipe Luís.
Flamengo also saw significant departures from its professional squad. Zenit (RUS) paid Gerson's release clause, paying €25 million (approximately R$160 million) upfront. Wesley was also traded to Roma (ITA) for €25 million, and Victor Hugo agreed to a loan deal with Santos, valid until July 2026.
The player will be Furacão's new reinforcement for the second division and leaves Mengão after great achievements with the Manto Sagrado

Flamengo continues to adjust its U-20 squad, and after Lorran's departure to Pisa (ITA), it was Luiz Phellipe's turn to leave the club . The left-back was loaned to Athletico-PR, where he will be part of the Paraná team's youth academy until the end of the season.
According to YouTuber Guilherme Flazoeiro, the young man has already traveled to Curitiba for medical examinations. After passing the tests, he is expected to sign a contract with the club , which currently plays in the Brazilian Championship's Série B.
Revealed in Flamengo 's youth ranks, Luiz Phellipe rose to prominence in 2023, still in the under-17s . The following year, he established himself as one of the main players in the squad, participating in 32 matches and scoring four goals.
In 2025, the 17-year-old full-back was promoted to the U-20 team and played 12 games, but failed to find the net. His last appearance came in the away draw against Fortaleza , when he came on for 24 minutes .
Even without Luiz Phellipe, the team led by Bruno Pivetti remains focused on the season, after winning the U-20 Club World Cup . The next match takes place on Saturday (06), at 9:30 am (Brasília time), against Vasco, at home.
Featured on the web for dribbling Vinicius Júnior, young Marcelo Portela leaves Botafogo and reinforces Mengão's youth academy after an agreement between the clubs

Young Marcelo Portela drew attention on social media after a play in which he left Vini Jr. on the ground during a futsal match . The play, which ended in a goal, went viral and catapulted the athlete to national prominence.
His talent didn't go unnoticed. Flamengo reached an agreement with Botafogo to sign the midfielder to strengthen its under-15 squad. The deal involved splitting the player's rights between the clubs. The information was initially reported by the "Flazoeiro" profile.
After the play, Vini Jr. reacted humorously and even took a photo with Portela, a gesture that further increased the video's impact. Shortly after, the number 7 returned to Spain and was instrumental in Real Madrid's La Liga performance.
In the victory over Mallorca, the Flamengo-trained striker scored the winning goal with a solo effort, dribbling past the defense and firing a cross-shot into the net. The result solidified the Brazilian's good form, which had been the target of criticism in his home country.
Striker Michael will be the next to leave Flamengo, as he is no longer in coach Filipe Luís's plans. The board has released the player to listen to offers and negotiate a new team in the second half of the year. Brazilian football clubs have already begun inquiries about the player.
