On Saturday night (11), Flamengo beat EC São Bernardo 3-1, in the final round of the group stage of the São Paulo Junior Football Cup. With goals from Felipe Lima and Bill (twice), Mais Querido guaranteed classification for the next phase, advancing as second place in Group 23. The next challenge will be against Red Bull Bragantino.
FIRST HALF: INTENSE BEGINNING OF MENGÃO
Under the command of coach Raphael Bahia, the red-black team started with the following lineup: Caio Barone; Gusttavo, Pedro Lemos, Johnny and Germano; Luis Aucélio (captain), Pedro Leão and Lucas Vieira; Douglas Telles, Bill and Felipe Lima. At just 18 years old, Léo Nannetti took center stage in the U-20 World Cup final at the Maracanã Stadium. The Flamengo goalkeeper was instrumental in the 2-2 draw in regulation time and shone in the penalty shootout , saving two shots in the 6-5 victory over Barcelona. The goalkeeper's impeccable performance cemented Mengão's title, securing their second title in the intercontinental youth competition.
Before the ball rolled, Léo Nannetti said he received a special message from Agustín Rossi, the starting goalkeeper for the professional squad. The encouragement served as fuel for a great performance: " Rossi sent me a message before the game to reassure me. I was able to put into practice what he and the goalkeeping coach, André, had said. We did a very detailed study and, thank God, I was able to be decisive," he said.
Emotional after the match, Nannetti highlighted the importance of the moment he experienced and the trajectory he built at the club: "It's wonderful to win this title so young alongside my brothers. I've been at Flamengo since 2016. Winning a World Cup with them is unforgettable," he declared.
With solid performances, the goalkeeper confirms his status as a promising young player. He has made 17 official appearances in 2025 and has established himself as one of the most promising players of the 2007 generation.

Among the protagonists was Matheus Gonçalves , who had a special afternoon. The striker, about to say goodbye to the category, celebrated the achievement with emotion: "It was special. We were raised together since we were little, it has a special taste. My last title with the under-20. I have to congratulate Léo (Nannetti, goalkeeper) and Bruno (Pivetti, coach). It's the second Intercontinental and we are two-time champions. Very happy for everything", he declared.
At 20 years old, having turned 20 on August 18th, the attacking midfielder will dedicate himself exclusively to the first team under Filipe Luís . In 2025, he made 15 professional appearances , including three goals in the Campeonato Carioca.
