Match may take place on FIFA dates or after Libertadores semi-final
|
0International is considering two possibilities for the delayed clash against Flamengo, referring to the 17th round of the Brasileirão. The game is scheduled for October, and could take place during the FIFA dates (in the first fortnight) or on the dates reserved for the Copa Libertadores semi-final (in the second fortnight), if the Rio team is eliminated in the quarter-finals of the competition.
Last Thursday (19), Flamengo lost the first game to Peñarol 1-0, in Rio de Janeiro, and will decide the classification next Thursday (26), in Montevideo. If the team does not advance in the continental competition, the CBF must reschedule the game with Inter for the 23rd or 30th of October.
On the other hand, if Tite's team manages to reverse the disadvantage against the Uruguayans and advance to the semi-finals, the match with Inter will be rescheduled for sometime between October 8th and 16th, during the break in FIFA dates. However, both teams will not be able to count on players called up for the South American teams.
International has already faced three of the five games delayed in the Brasileirão due to the flood that affected Rio Grande do Sul in May. The matches against Cruzeiro, Juventude and Fortaleza have already been played. The next duel will be against Bragantino, scheduled for next Wednesday (25), with only the clash with Flamengo remaining to be rearranged. Before that, Colorado will face a challenge in the 27th round of the championship, facing São Paulo this Sunday (22), at 6:30 pm, at Morumbi.
The São Paulo team tried to sign the player at the beginning of the year

0The president Augusto Melo was asked this Friday (20) about Corinthians' interest in striker Gabigol, from Flamengo. The Corinthians director said that the club's focus at the moment is the dispute in the semi-final of the Copa do Brasil, against Rubro-Negro himself, and treated the squad as "closed".
"No, we are very focused on the semi-final. We don't think about that now. We now have a closed squad. No, no, like that... We imagined what we were achieving today, now it's up to the (technical) committee", replied Augusto Melo in a zone. mixed, shortly after the draw for the teams in the semi-final of the Copa do Brasil at the CBF.
Corinthians tried to sign the player at the beginning of the year, but left the deal after feeling a lack of definition between Flamengo and the athlete. The athlete's contract with Rubro-Negro is only valid until the end of the year, and the tendency is for the attacker to change his ways.
With little prestige with coach Tite and hampered by injuries, the numbers of Gabigol in the season are shy: four goals and one assist in 26 games (three as a starter).
Gabigol has already publicly praised the Corinthians fans and was recorded wearing a team shirt in May, which generated great repercussion. Revealed at Santos, the striker also has spells at Internazionale and Benfica, in addition to having already played for the Brazilian national team.
Competition will replace the Club World Cup, starting this Sunday
|
0FIFA revealed, this Friday (20), information about the Intercontinental Cup, which will replace the old Club World Cup. Flamengo, if they manage to reverse their disadvantage in the quarter-finals of the Libertadores against Peñarol (URU), will be in contention for a place in the tournament.
The competition will begin next Sunday (22), with the duel between Auckland City (NZL) and Al Ain (UAE). Renowned teams, such as Al Ahly (EGI) and Real Madrid (ESP), champion of the last UEFA Champions League, will also be present. If Flamengo advances, they will face Pachuca (MEX) in the 'Derby of the Americas', the third match of the tournament.
Flamengo lost the first game of the Libertadores quarter-finals to Peñarol 1-0, at Maracanã. However, the team led by Tite will have the opportunity to seek a comeback in Uruguayan territory, on the 26th, at 7pm. Moving forward, Rubro-Negro will continue to compete for the fourth Libertadores championship and a place in the world cup.
Before focusing on the clash with Peñarol, Flamengo will have a challenge for the Brasileirão, facing Grêmio in the 27th round. Victory is crucial to keeping the dream of the national title alive. The game is scheduled for this Sunday (22), at 6:30 pm (Brasília time), at Arena do Grêmio.
Red-black team remains eight points behind leader Botafogo
|
0Last Sunday (15), Flamengo and Vasco drew 1-1, at Maracanã, in a match valid for the 26th round of the Brazilian Championship. The result, although frustrating for the red and blacks, who dominated much of the match, kept them eight points behind leader Botafogo.
Mais Querido entered the field imposing his pace and controlling the actions for most of the game. The red-black goal was scored by Gerson, who has been standing out in recent matches. However, CRF conceded the draw in the final minutes, which prevented a more significant approach to the classification table.
Even with the difference in points for Botafogo, the technical committee, led by Tite, devised a strategy focused on keeping the team competitive until the last rounds. According to information from the Coluna do Fla portal, the objective is to arrive "alive" in the fight for the title in the final five rounds. Matheus Bachi, assistant coach, believes that the recent good performance against Bahia and Vasco could be an indication that the team is on the right track to fight for the top again.
While trying to get closer to the leaders in the Brasileirão, Mengão is already preparing for the next challenge in the Libertadores. The team will face Peñarol, at Maracanã, in the quarterfinals of the continental tournament. The Rio team is looking for a good result at home before traveling to Uruguay for the second leg next week.
