One of Real Madrid's highlights of the season, striker Vinícius Júnior could be a big winner for Flamengo. This is because, according to the Spanish press, PSG, Chelsea and Liverpool are preparing an offer of 200 million euros (around R$1 billion, at current prices) for the Brazilian and the Rio team is entitled to a percentage of this amount.
As Vinícius Júnior's training club, Flamengo is entitled to 2.5% of the striker through FIFA's solidarity mechanism. Thus, if the Brazilian is sold for the amount reported by the Spanish press, the red-and-black would receive R$25 million.
For each international transfer of a player, the athlete's training club is entitled to 5% of the values involved. This percentage, however, is divided by all the clubs the athlete played for between 12 and 23 years of age. In the case of Vini Jr., he stayed at Flamengo from 12 to 18 years old, accounting for 2.5%.
It is worth remembering that the value of Vinícius Junior's negotiation with Real Madrid, concluded in 2017, was of 45 million euros (around R$164 million at the exchange rate at the time). However, Flamengo was left with approximately R$100 million, after tax and commission discounts.
According to information from the Spanish newspapers El Debate and Sport, PSG knew that sooner or later it would lose Mbappé and its strategy for years is trying to sign Vinicius. First he tried to get him not to renew with Real and, when he couldn't, he made it clear that he could open his coffers to sign with him.
The 200 million euros would make Vini Jr. the second most expensive player of all times, second only to Brazilian teammate Neymar, who was signed by the French team for 222 million euros in 2017. Flamengo is preparing to face Internacional this Sunday (17), for the 20th round of the Brazilian Championship. On Friday afternoon (15), Arrascaeta gave a press conference and avoided commenting on a possible contract renewal with the club.
