Qatar's Al Rayyan attempted to sign striker Pedro in recent days , offering $20 million (approximately R$110 million). The proposal was delivered directly to the player's representatives, but Flamengo immediately rejected any possibility of negotiation.
According to journalist Venê Casagrande, the red-black board made it clear that it does not intend to sell Pedro in 2025, to the point of not even opening talks with the Qatari club , a position that changed after a strong member of the board declared to journalist Mauro Cezar Pereira that he would like to negotiate the center forward .
The number 9 is enjoying a good run of form with the team, but he's recently faced turbulence. Pedro was even involved in a controversy with Filipe Luís , which even resulted in him being temporarily removed from training. Athletico has officially signed 17-year-old left-back Luiz Phellipe from Flamengo on loan. The player joins the Furacão team in the FPF Cup, initially competing with the Paraná club's youth academy.
Luiz Phellipe has appeared in 12 official matches for Flamengo's under-20s this season, starting only three. His last appearance came on July 23, when he came on as a second-half substitute in a 1-0 loss to Fortaleza in the Brazilian Championship . The transfer was initially confirmed by the Flazoeiro profile on X, in partnership with the Flabase channel.
Furacão, which already has a guaranteed spot in the Copa do Brasil, has decided to focus on the U-20 team to seek promotion to the FPF Cup's Série A. The strategy aims to give young athletes competitive experience and expand the youth academy's use in the professional squad.
Flamengo 's under-20 team won its second Club World Cup title in the category on August 23, defeating Barcelona on penalties. After the title, the board initiated a comprehensive overhaul of the youth squad , resulting in the departure of 23 players in recent months.
