The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) faces a challenge to adjust the calendar for the semi-finals of the Copa do Brasil. Even with the end of the next FIFA date scheduled for October 15th, the base date for the semi-final return matches is scheduled for the 16th. Flamengo, one of the semi-finalists, can have up to nine players called up for their respective teams and is already looking for a solution with the entity. The information was released by journalist André Rizek.

The simplest alternative would be for Mais Querido to face Corinthians at Neo Química Arena on Thursday, the 17th. However, the São Paulo club's participation in the semi-final of Copa Sudamericana complicates the situation, as Conmebol, which has preference in choosing dates, will probably schedule the first game of this phase for October 22nd, a Tuesday. This is the day on which SBT, which holds the broadcasting rights for Sul-Americana, usually shows the matches.

POSTIBILITIES OF POSTPONATION FACE OBSTACLES< /b>

If Corinthians plays for the South American Championship on the 22nd, the team would need to play on Saturday, the 19th, for the Brazilian Championship, which would make the confrontation with Flamengo on the previous Thursday, the 17th. an impasse on how to fit the duel into the tight calendar of both teams.

Faced with this situation, Rubro-Negro suggested to the CBF that the match against Timão take place over the weekend, preferably on Sunday, the day October 20th. To do so, Conmebol would need to agree not to schedule Corinthians' duel in the South American Championship for Tuesday, allowing more flexibility for the Copa do Brasil game.

< p>NEED FOR AGREEMENT BETWEEN ALL THOSE INVOLVED

For this proposal to be viable, the CBF will need an understanding between all parties involved: in addition to the highest national football entity, an agreement with Corinthians, Conmebol, the holders of broadcasting rights and even Fluminense and Athletico-PR, Flamengo and Corinthians' opponents in the 30th round of the Brasileirão, would be necessary. These games would also have to be brought forward to the middle of the week, right after the FIFA date ends.

HOW THE TEAMS ARRIVE

Peñarol arrives excited after the victory at Maracanã and rocked by a 5-0 defeat against Cerro, last Sunday, in the Uruguayan Championship. Furthermore, the Carboneros have an unbeaten run of 12 games at the Campeón del Siglo Stadium, which increases the confidence of the team led by Diego Aguirre. The Uruguayan team must repeat the basis that beat Mengão, focusing on defensive balance and quick counterattacks.

On the side of Flamengo, the atmosphere is under pressure. The Rio team is coming off two consecutive defeats, including the defeat in the first game against Peñarol and the defeat to Grêmio (2-3) last weekend, in the Brazilian Championship.

The loss of unbeaten record 28 games at Maracanã in Libertadores weighs heavily, and coach Tite needs to look for quick solutions to reverse the score and guarantee the place. The expectation is around the physical recovery of important players, such as Arrascaeta, and the possible entry of Gabigol in the second half.
