The Under-17 Boys from the Nest score 3-0 over Botafogo in the first half, and are in the Copa Rio final! Playing at home, on the sacred ground of Gávea, Mengão dominated the match, and scored goals from David, Felipe Teresa and Lucyan to guarantee classification and 3-2 on the aggregate score.
Race, love , passion, and the Rubro-Negro DNA were present this Saturday morning (10/06), in Gávea. Needing to take a two-goal lead, the team led by coach Leonardo Ramos was intense from the opening whistle until the end of the game in search of qualifying for the Rio U-17 Cup final.
Just after 5 minutes, this translated into a goal. Fabricio Lentz received it on the left, and found the right cross for David to open the scoring in Gávea. Balanced offensively and defensively, Mengão used ball possession to avoid many of the opponent's chances. And before the technical stoppage, they tried to leave everything equal on the aggregate score, and regain the advantage in the confrontation. Felipe Teresa received a great shot on the right and went one-on-one. The number 7 cleared the defender and scored Mengão's second goal!
With two goals from the front, Flamengo took control of the match once and for all. Consequently, the third came out, still in the first stage. Fabricio again arrives with danger in attack, crosses into the area, and full-back Lucyan, as a center forward, makes the third!
The hot weather in the south of Rio de Janeiro also raised spirits on the field, especially as it was a decisive classic. The referee, in order to control the match, distributed yellow cards to both teams, five of which went to Flamengo alone. Two of them ended up going to Felipe Lima, who ended up being sent off before the break.
At the beginning of the second half, the match referee directly expelled the athlete Adriano, from Botafogo, for a dangerous foul in midfield. In this way, with 10 x 10, Mengão's U-17 bet on more offensive transitions and possession of the ball to control the final stage
