Flamengo is experiencing another important moment off the field. The club's Deliberative Council called for next Tuesday (15) the vote on the Financial Statements for the 2024 fiscal year, in addition to the analysis of the budget execution . The objective is to confirm whether the board, led by Rodolfo Landim in his last year in office, followed the planning approved for the season.

Rubro-Negro has already publicly released its audited financial report at the end of March , highlighting a record gross revenue of R$1.334 billion . However, the document also exposed a significant increase in net operating debt, which jumped from R$48 million to R$327 million — an increase of 581% — and a final deficit of R$734 thousand .

INVESTMENTS BOOSTED DEBT

The two main factors that increased the debt were the heavy investment in reinforcements and the purchase of the Gasômetro land , an area intended for the future construction of its own stadium. Flamengo paid R$146 million for the area, while the movements in the transfer windows consumed almost R$300 million throughout the year.

SALES SHOULD BE THE FOCUS IN 2025

Given the debt scenario, the red-black board intends to focus on selling athletes in the next windows. Signing new players will not be a priority . Among the most valued assets in the squad is full-back Wesley, who could yield around 40 million euros ( R$245 million ) to the club.

MENGÃO RETURNS TO THE FIELD FOR THE LIBERTADORES

With the off-field in full swing, Flamengo keeps its focus on football . This Wednesday (09), Filipe Luís ' team will host Central Córdoba (ARG), at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã, for the second round of the group stage of the Copa Libertadores da América.

Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid, MVP of the 2022/23 NBA season, once again demonstrated his affection for Flamengo . Last Thursday (21), the Cameroonian player was spotted in an official club store, in Cabo Frio (RJ) , where he made a point of purchasing several red-black products.

A SURPRISING VISIT

Although unusual, Embiid's presence in the Lakes Region has a reason. Married to Brazilian model Anne de Paula, the athlete often visits the city, where his father-in-law lives, during the holidays. This time, he took the opportunity to explore the "Nação Rubro-Negra" store and expand his Flamengo memorabilia collection.

ENTHUSIASM IN THE STORE

The star's arrival took everyone by surprise and caused great excitement among the employees. Salesman Kauan said he was so nervous when he met the player that he forgot to remove the alarm from a piece of furniture, creating an unusual moment: " His father-in-law even joked with me afterward.
