Last Thursday (16) Gabigol appeared in a photo where he wore a Corinthians shirt. The image caused people to talk and angered fans and leaders of Flamengo. Thus, Mais Querido's board decided to fine the attacker and take away his number 10. Thus, the player gave an exclusive interview to UOL where he apologized to the Nation.

"First, I made a mistake. I think it's making mistakes, apologizing, knowing that I made a mistake. But at that moment when the photo came out, I was very perplexed. Of course, in the emotion of the facts, my first thought was to deny it. As I talk to my friends, I collect shirts, I exchange shirts, be it national team shirts, basketball shirts, and I ended up receiving and using this shirt," said Gabigol.

"It's apologizing and saying that it won't happen again."

NORMALITY IN WEARING SHIRTS FROM OTHER CLUBS

In addition to apologizing, Gabigol also said that he didn't wear the Corinthians shirt to provoke the fans of Flamengo. Thus, the athlete explained that, for him, it is normal to wear uniforms from other teams.

"As I said, I made a mistake, I apologize. But it was an act that I didn't think about that much. I didn't know all this was going to happen. I would never wear a shirt to be able to disrespect Flamengo's shirt, the Flamengo fans. This is an act that occurs in many outskirts, wearing several shirts. It means apologizing and saying that it won't happen again", added Gabigol.

CASE CLOSED FOR THE FAMENGO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

After fining Gabigol and removing his number 10, the board of Flamengo gives the case as closed. Thus, the striker has already returned to normal activities with the rest of the Flamengo squad this Sunday (19).

Alexsandro Ribeiro is one of the new additions to the Brazilian national team called up by Carlo Ancelotti. The 26-year-old defender, a Flamengo youth product, made his debut in June and started in his first two matches with the national team.

Currently playing for Lille in France, the defender is enjoying one of the best moments of his career, after facing difficulties at the beginning of his professional career. In an exclusive interview with 365Scores, held at Granja Comary in Teresópolis, Alexsandro revealed that he almost gave up football after leaving Flamengo as a teenager.

" I played for Flamengo, and when the decision to leave came, I never imagined it would be so difficult for a 16- or 17-year-old. It was the hardest time of my life, spending a year and a half without a club, going through tryouts and trials. Many times, I returned to Rio with an empty suitcase, without hope, wanting to stop playing ," the player said.

INTEREST OF AL-NASSR

In addition to reaching the round of 16 of the 2024/25 Champions League , the defender was also the target of a bid from Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr in the last transfer window. The deal, however, fell through due to a decision by Lille's board, which opted to keep him on the squad.

" The only offer I received was from Al-Nassr, but the president wouldn't let me go and said he needed me for this year . I spoke to him and made it clear that I didn't want to leave, but I also didn't want to stay; it would depend on him. I wasn't going to fight him because I'm grateful to him and for the opportunity he gave me. It was calm, so to speak, because we know that Saudi Arabia is a very tempting offer," Alexsandro stated.
