UNSUSTAINABLE! FLAMENGO REACHES FRUSTRATING MARK WITH MANY DEFEATS BY UPCOMING IN 2023

Last Wednesday (25), Flamengo lost badly to Grêmio, in Porto Alegre. The defeat was not only disappointing because of the negative effect it had on the Brasileirão league table (the team failed to reach second place), but because it was a turning point, when the team lost its balance completely in the second half.

For fans, it's never easy to swallow a loss like this, even when it's been repeated a lot. It was the seventh time this season that Flamengo lost in a comeback. This is almost half of all the games that Mais Querido has been defeated this year.

Flamengo is the second team that suffered the most upsets this year, compared to other teams in Series A of the Brazilian Championship. América-MG, bottom of the Brasileirão and virtual relegated to Series B, with ten points, occupies first place in the ranking. In 67 matches, the Gávea team has accumulated 36 wins, 17 defeats and 14 draws.

And you can't even blame a specific coach for this result. In the three professionals who played for the team this year, this 'phenomenon' happens with certain frequency.

The seven matches in which Flamengo suffered a turnover occurred in four different competitions during the season. They were: Brazilian Super Cup, Campeonato Carioca, Copa Libertadores da América and Campeonato Brasileiro. See what they were:

- Palmeiras 4 x 3 Flamengo (Supercopa do Brasil – 28/01)

- Flamengo 1 x 2 Fluminense (Campeonato Carioca – 08/03)

- Aucas (EQU) 2 x 1 Flamengo (Libertadores – 05/04)

- Internacional 2 x 1 Flamengo (Brasileirão – 23/04)

- Athletico -PR 2 x 1 Flamengo (Brasileirão – 07/05)

- Olimpia (PAR) 3 x 1 Flamengo (Libertadores – 10/08)

- Grêmio 3 x 2 Flamengo ( Brasileirão – 10/25)

Flamengo has not had a good run in the competitions it competes in and fans have lost patience with Tite. Thus, Anderson Macula, president of the organized fans Raça Rubro-Negra, demanded the dismissal of the coach and asked Filipe Luís to be hired as coach of the professional squad.

"Bitter Friday. A coach who doesn't has respect for the fans, who don't know what they're doing. With such a qualified squad, they can't get the team to play. Tite is so stupid that he can't see Léo Ortiz as a starter in Flamengo's midfield. the player who delivers the most in this squad. He starts the game with two midfielders, coming off an injury, with no rhythm in the game. Anyone on the edge of the field would opt for one or the other. Flamengo didn't have a midfielder. ", he said, before finishing:

"Léo Ortiz was his last option. to hire Filipe Luís. A very talented guy, who has the respect of the fans. Send Tite away and bring Gabigol to the squad. We have a game next week, which is the game of Flamengo's life", he concluded.

SITUATION MUST BE RESOLVED BY MARCOS BRAZ AND LANDIM

In addition to asking for Filipe Luís to be hired, Macula also demands that the Red and Black board of directors. According to the fan, Mais Querido's situation is in the hands of Marcos Braz and Rodolfo Landim.

"There's no point in coming to tell a story. . This creates a positive and light atmosphere to seek classification in Uruguay. So it's in the hands of Marcos Braz and Rodolfo Landim. Send Tite away, bring Filipe Luís in, take over as coach of the professional squad. We've already done it with Jayme and Andrade, so don't tell me it's premature. And take quick and effective action to save Flamengo's year", he concluded.

TITE WILL REMAIN IN POSITION

Even though many fans are calling for the departure of Tite, the coach will remain in his position. This is because the Red and Black board does not intend to fire him for now, as his contract ends on December 31st.

International is considering two possibilities for the delayed clash against Flamengo, referring to the 17th round of the Brasileirão. The game is scheduled for October, and could take place during the FIFA dates (in the first fortnight) or on the dates reserved for the Copa Libertadores semi-final (in the second fortnight), if the Rio team is eliminated in the quarter-finals of the competition.

Last Thursday (19), Flamengo lost the first game to Peñarol 1-0, in Rio de Janeiro, and will decide the classification next Thursday (26), in Montevideo. If the team does not advance in the continental competition, the CBF must reschedule the game with Inter for the 23rd or 30th of October.

On the other hand, if Tite's team manages to reverse the disadvantage against the Uruguayans and advance to the semi-finals, the match with Inter will be rescheduled for sometime between October 8th and 16th, during the break in FIFA dates. However, both teams will not be able to count on players called up for the South American teams.

INTER DELAYED GAMES

International has already faced three of the five games delayed in the Brasileirão due to the flood that affected Rio Grande do Sul in May. The matches against Cruzeiro, Juventude and Fortaleza have already been played. The next duel will be against Bragantino, scheduled for next Wednesday (25), with only the clash with Flamengo remaining to be rearranged. Before that, Colorado will face a challenge in the 27th round of the championship, facing São Paulo this Sunday (22), at 6:30 pm, at Morumbi.
